Can you see why it wasn't? [13:30] bug 1787082 in grub-installer (Ubuntu) "grub installation failed " [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1787082 [13:51] psusi: Did you try test-local with it? [13:53] bdmurray: yea, and it has been working [13:56] search-bugs -C worked anyhow [13:56] maybe it just isn't working on newly filed bugs? [13:57] yea, I think that's it... it isn't working on bugs filed since I ran search-bugs and pushed [13:58] why would it work here, but not there? [13:59] Apport checks the following URL so we could make sure it is there. [13:59] https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/bugpatterns/bugpatterns.xml [13:59] and it is [14:05] I also modified test-local to use that url and the pattern still worked. [14:16] so... it should be working... wtf? [14:30] is the server just not scanning new bugs? [14:32] The way it works is apport on the client side checks the bugpatterns xml file and then says hey don't report this because its a duplicate of this other bug. [14:33] test-local calls the same functions, so its not an issue with the duplicate checking functions but probably with them getting called at all [18:19] psusi: How could I recreate the bug? It might be best to test it in a live cd environment. [19:38] bdmurray: take an existing hard disk with at least one partition on it but no ESP, boot the installer in UEFI mode and it will crash when it tries to install grub [20:08] bdmurray: ohh, and don't do the auto use whole disk install or it will make an esp... manual partitioning, and don't make an ESP
