lubot5<tsimonq2> @wxl, No clue.00:36
-lugito:#lubuntu-devel- [T62: Minimal install is broken? ] tsimonq2 (Simon Quigley) just created this task: https://phab.lubuntu.me/T6202:31
lubot5<JyotiGomes> (Photo, 1280x719) https://i.imgur.com/UMtuG1t.jpg02:34
lubot5<JyotiGomes> yesterday screenshot: only the option for manually do the partition of the disk02:35
wxl@tsimonq2: then we should punt it. it'll be hard enough making the package removal happen02:49
tsimonq2wxl: ack, I'll update wiki pages etc.02:50
-lugito:#lubuntu-devel- [T33: Configure OEM] wxl (Walter Lapchynski) commented on the task: https://phab.lubuntu.me/T33#122302:54
wxl@JyotiGomes I've tried to replicate that and can't, so I'm not sure what the situation is. You'll have to file a bug with clear instructions to reproduce. Ideally, start with a virtual machine.03:35
wxl /msg tsimonq2 that maybe makes more sense. maybe. :)03:56
wxloops well whatever03:56
tsimonq2hahahaha03:56
tsimonq2¯\_(ツ)_/¯03:56
lubot5<luca_aleksandr> a galera ja testou o lubuntu 18.10 ?03:57
wxlor i bet if i just change the context it will just work04:49
wxlugh04:49
lubot5<Hans Möller> Good Morining12:07
lubot5<Hans Möller> @wxl I found out how to use imagemagick, now I need to pull the info of the screen/wallpaper configurations. For the screen I normaly use xrandr, but for wallpaper (file and if scaled, tiled, centered, etc...) this should be pull of from en pcmanfm-qt from where? Do you know?12:09
lubot5<Hans Möller> I'm thinking in a script that check this configuration and repeat the same configuration for all of the screens.12:10
lubot5<Hans Möller> This as MVP at least.12:11
wxl@Hans it looks like the [Desktop] stanza of the pcmanfm-qt config ($HOME/.config/pcmanfm-qt/lxqt/settings.conf).. if that's not there then go with the global at /etc/xdg/Lubuntu/pcmanfm-qt/lxqt/settings.conf16:49
lubot5<Hans Möller> thanks, I will look at that.16:58
lubot5<Hans Möller> this should be the file to look at with the cron job, or is it another way to know when the wallpaper has been changed?17:36
wxlno other way that i know of17:37
lyorian@hans modification time not equal to acess time?17:53
wxl@lyorian: that's applicable to the whole file, but all sorts of settings could change while the wallpaper stays the same17:54
lyorianah17:54
lyorianmake a new file called wallpaper changed and touch it seems a quite inelegant solution17:54
wxlyou'd have to rewrite the code to update that file17:55
wxlit's easy enough to grep a file and compare it to a previous value17:55
ckrzenHowdy! I've been tracking cosmic-18.10 on the daily ppa(https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-dev/+archive/lubuntu-daily) and it has been down(removed?) since last week. Any news on it's return?18:25
ckrzenP.S. if I disconnect, please answer and I'll check back in the irc log server. Thanks!18:27
wxlckrzen: not really a thing anymore.18:33
ckrzenAhhh ... how can I track Lubu-18.10 from an installed base of vanilla Ubu-10.04.1?18:35
ckrzen%s/10.04.1/18.04.118:35
wxlyour guess is as good as mine :)18:36
wxlit's a completely different DE18:36
wxlcompletely different apps18:36
ckrzenYeah ... I've just been using it as a separate login session from GDM. So that I can get a feel for features and help test.18:37
wxlif you want to test, i'd just grab a daily image18:37
ckrzenMostly .... on my partners lappy, since LXQT is so much sleeker than GNOME 3 and she still has access to the GNOME apps she's used to, etc.18:38
ckrzenOK. I just can't get any updates for the currently installed LXQT apps since the ppa went down.18:38
wxlthey're in the repos18:39
wxle.g.:18:39
wxl!info lxqt-panel cosmic18:39
ubot93lxqt-panel (source: lxqt-panel): LXQt desktop panel. In component universe, is optional. Version 0.13.0-0ubuntu5 (cosmic), package size 467.62890625 kB, installed size 1992 kB18:39
ckrzenbtw:  main reason I installed the ppa was for access to the improved lxqt-globalkeysd which supports Super(Win) key release-events for activation the apps menu, ala GNOME and Windows, etc.18:40
wxl!info lxqt-globalkeys cosmic18:41
ubot93lxqt-globalkeys (source: lxqt-globalkeys): daemon used to register global keyboard shortcuts (appl.). In component universe, is optional. Version 0.13.0-0ubuntu1 (cosmic), package size 138.29296875 kB, installed size 518 kB18:41
ckrzenOk ... so If I remove the ppa will I just be getting the 18.04.1 release versions?18:42
wxlyou will get the versions appropriate for the system you're on18:43
wxlsee lsb_release18:43
wxlyou have to be on 18.04 to get 18.04 versions18:43
ckrzenok. so ... since I'm on an installed base 18.04.1, then --- I'll have to do some sorta request on the apt cli to get the devel versions(18.10) if i want to track 'em?18:44
ckrzen!lsb_release18:44
ubot93Factoid 'lsb_release' not found18:44
ckrzenack!18:44
ckrzenI'll d/l the daily iso and see what else I can figure-out. Thanks @wxl18:45
wxli wouldn't necessarily recommend it for production use but you can always modify /etc/apt/sources.list and change to cosmic18:45
ckrzenok ... that sounds good. I really just want the cosmic updates for the lxqt-* stuff.18:46
wxlyou'll get it for everything tho18:46
ckrzenyeah ... not ideal, as you stated.18:46
wxlthere's ways you could probably hack around it but it's really silly18:47
wxlif you want to do that much hacking, just repackage the cosmic versions for bionic18:47
wxlmake your own ppa18:47
ckrzenok. thanks. looking forward to the cosmic release!18:48
lubot5<Hans Möller> @wxl, sudo apt install lxqt wouldn't work?19:46
lyorian@hans that installs upstream lxqt20:13
lubot5<tsimonq2> (Photo, 863x677) https://i.imgur.com/YtpPGMh.jpg Hey wxl, at least I HAVE artwork... XD20:59
lubot5<Hans Möller> One questions that arise me with that image, does the options (ex: —forcepae) will work the same way?21:05
wxl@tsimonq2: ugh i don't understand21:12
lubot5<tsimonq2> @wxl, Boot the daily.21:12
wxloh i know21:12
wxli just ddon't understand21:12
krytarik"RGB color" (new) vs "Indexed color (256 colors)" (previous and proper)21:22
krytarikAnd the logo is considerably smaller in the new PNG too.21:40
krytarikIn fact that goes for both the PCX and PNG variants.21:44
lubot5<tsimonq2> And wxl said he was good at art XD21:44
lubot5<tsimonq2> @VikingRedwolf has the SVGs but won't make the stuff for us!21:45
wxlit's not so small that it's invisible21:45
lubot5<tsimonq2> @VikingRedwolf C'mon, five minute job :)21:45
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> @tsimonq2, Is it that small?21:54
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Can I get some screenshots?21:54
wxl@VikingRedwolf https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cdimage/debian-cd/ubuntu/files/head:/data/cosmic/21:55
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Okies22:10
wxl@VikingRedwolf figured it out yet?22:54
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Why is the Ubuntu logo looking so old? 🤔22:55
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> But yes22:55
wxlwhat went wrong?22:57
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> I don't know yet. Size should be the same, but it isn't22:57
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> I'll figure it out22:57
wxlthe size of the image isn't the same???22:57
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Aye22:58
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Maybe the dpi22:58
wxlwtf22:58
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> I don't have enough data yet22:58
wxl+wxl@standard-desktop:~/Downloads$ identify ubuntu-mate.png22:59
wxlubuntu-mate.png PNG 639x320 639x320+0+0 8-bit PseudoClass 255c 3.44KB 0.000u 0:00.00022:59
wxl+wxl@standard-desktop:~/Downloads$ identify lubuntu.png22:59
wxllubuntu.png PNG 639x320 639x320+0+0 8-bit DirectClass 12.5KB 0.000u 0:00.00022:59
wxl+wxl@standard-desktop:~/Downloads$ identify lubuntu.pcx23:00
wxllubuntu.pcx PCX 640x480 640x480+0+0 8-bit DirectClass 48.3KB 0.000u 0:00.01023:00
wxl+wxl@standard-desktop:~/Downloads$ identify ubuntu-mate.pcx23:00
wxlubuntu-mate.pcx PCX 640x480 640x480+0+0 8-bit PseudoClass 256c 15.2KB 0.000u 0:00.00923:00
wxlcould it be the directclass/pseudoclass thing?23:00
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Dunno yet23:00
wxllooks like we used pseudoclass on the pcx last cycle, and directclass on the png23:01
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Odd. I just used Gimp.23:02
wxlme too23:02
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> I'll have a look tomorrow23:02
wxloh resolution/print size is different23:06
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Exactly, dpi23:07
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> That must be the problem23:07
wxl-  Resolution: 28.35x28.3523:07
wxl-  Print size: 22.5397x11.287523:07
wxl+  Resolution: 118.11x118.1123:07
wxl+  Print size: 5.41021x2.7093423:07
wxlthat's -cosmic versus +bionic23:07
wxlbut why would it go black is beyond me23:07
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Same23:07
wxlespecially given there's no such difference in the pcx!23:07
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Damn right23:08
wxl300x300 for the pcx23:08
wxli don't think it's the resolution though as mate has the same one as ours for cosmic23:09
wxlubuntu uses an even smaller resolution23:11
wxl72x72 for both images23:12
wxloh well i guess that's bigger than ours for the png, but mate is doing the same thing as us23:13
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Weird23:13
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Weirder23:13
wxlthere has got to be some other sort of problem23:14
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> I'll investigate23:14
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Now I'm sleepy23:14
wxli'm thinking it's not art related23:14
wxlnite23:15
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> If it's not, must be the splash config23:16
lubot5<VikingRedwolf> Nite nite, bub23:16
