ShalokShalomdid you stop to ship a live mode?00:14
tsimonq2Oh hey ShalokShalom00:14
tsimonq2I'm not quite sure what you mean.00:14
ShalokShalomhi00:14
ShalokShalomthe current ISO for 32 Bit alternate gives me no option to start in live mode00:14
ShalokShalomis this different for the desktop version?00:14
tsimonq2Right, the Alternate ISO is based on the ncurses debian-installer frontend.00:15
ShalokShalomI see00:15
tsimonq2If you want a live instance, choose the Desktop ISO.00:15
ShalokShalomMight be worth to mention this somewhere on the downloads page, thanks a lot00:15
tsimonq2Lubuntu.me ;)00:15
ShalokShalomI see00:16
ShalokShalomWhy are there 2 different versions of the homepage?00:16
ShalokShalomIs there any particular reason, why the slim version comes without the live mode? In order to save even more space?00:17
tsimonq2Lubuntu.net is not something we control.00:17
tsimonq2If it was up to us, Lubuntu.me would be the only one.00:17
tsimonq2And yeah, we sort of ditched alternates after the LTS :) but yes, to save space.00:18
ShalokShalomI see I see00:18
ShalokShalomthanks a lot00:18
tsimonq2Thank you.00:18
tsimonq2ShalokShalom: Feel free to idle in #lubuntu-devel :)00:19
ShalokShalom:)00:19
ShalokShalomsure sure00:19
ShalokShalomMy friend is amazed by the current daily build, thanks ;)00:31
tsimonq2Awesome!00:31
ShalokShalomcosmic00:31
tsimonq2ShalokShalom: We would totally welcome their feedback in #lubuntu-devel ;)00:31
ShalokShalomhe is not a dev00:31
tsimonq2Don't worry.00:31
tsimonq2We like normal users too :)00:31
ShalokShalomhe is a bit picky when it comes to the balance between optic and weight00:32
tsimonq2We have quite a few who idle in there and give us misc bits of feedback which we transform into useful information.00:32
ShalokShalomseems to hit his taste (difficult)00:32
tsimonq2Hehe00:32
ShalokShalomhe is normaly a Windows user00:32
ShalokShalomPrefers XP and 200000:32
ShalokShalom:P00:32
tsimonq2Ah00:32
tsimonq2I started with XP, heh00:32
ShalokShalomReally?00:33
ShalokShalomYou are that young?00:33
tsimonq2Yup.00:33
ShalokShalomWow00:33
tsimonq2I'm 16; my partner in crime is a bit older than I. :)00:33
ShalokShalomoh I see00:33
ShalokShalomimpressive00:34
tsimonq2Thanks.00:34
ShalokShalomcool cool00:34
ShalokShalomyou are involved since how long in Lubuntu?00:34
tsimonq2Hmm, three or four years?00:34
ShalokShalomi see00:35
tsimonq2I'm the Release Manager, wxl's the QA lead00:36
tsimonq2I've done the majority of the work this cycle but he's also been a great help.00:36
ShalokShalomI hope my statement in Phabricator was not seen as an attack00:36
ShalokShalomI see :)00:36
ShalokShalomI know how much work it is00:36
tsimonq2I just think you were making false assumptions, that's all :)00:36
ShalokShalomEven when the packages are already there00:36
ShalokShalomDo you maintain the lxde and lxqt packages?00:37
ShalokShalomYeah, probably00:37
ShalokShalomThe XFS changelog really reads like you have implemented XFS support00:37
tsimonq2LXDE only in 18.04, 16.04, and 14.04, and LXQt only in 18.10+.00:37
tsimonq2"XFS support has now been enabled with Calamares."00:37
tsimonq2Which links to this: https://phab.lubuntu.me/rSEED8a2e4b0be76619f93dc78b27bfb56970dd5e171a00:38
tsimonq2Us just simply adding it to the seed ;)00:38
ShalokShalomYep00:38
ShalokShalomI think I mean the distrowatch comment00:38
ShalokShalomNot your fault00:38
tsimonq2oh00:38
tsimonq2hah00:38
ShalokShalomThey also messed up our recent ISO00:38
tsimonq2Oh?00:39
ShalokShalomShared a broken one with 800mb too less on it via Torrent00:39
ShalokShalomYeah, it is fixed now00:39
tsimonq2Eek!00:39
ShalokShalomIn the same article, they speak about how to verify ISOs00:39
ShalokShalomOf course with a lot of useful stuff missing anyway00:39
ShalokShalomDistrowatch, what should I say00:39
tsimonq2Hah.00:40
ShalokShalomThey even limit the appearence of "minor" distros to a few per year :)00:40
tsimonq2Yeah.00:40
ShalokShalomThey dont post about new releases, if you do more than 3 or so00:41
ShalokShalomDoes Lubuntu also fit in that category?00:41
tsimonq2Depends on who you ask.00:42
ShalokShalomYeah, their news item says: Lubuntu makes the Calamares Installer more flexible00:42
ShalokShalomHaha, I see00:42
ShalokShalomWhat a mess00:42
tsimonq2I really have no gauge on how many people actually use Lubuntu.00:42
ShalokShalomYour homepage is beautyful00:42
tsimonq2Thanks.00:42
ShalokShalomI like the colors00:42
tsimonq2Thank @VikingRedwolf :)00:42
ShalokShalomThanks VikingRedwolf ^-^00:43
ShalokShalomI read two different statements (and I believe I already know which one is valid now)00:43
ShalokShalomAh, forget it xD00:44
tsimonq2hehe00:44
ShalokShalom18.10 ships LXQT00:44
ShalokShalomJust confused it with the Wayland implementation00:44
ShalokShalomWhich comes with 20.1000:44
ShalokShalomHow is that with Mir? You use Mir and Wayland?00:44
ShalokShalomAnd whats that with Waybox?00:45
ShalokShalom:D00:45
tsimonq2We port Openbox to Mir which uses Wayland on the backend.00:46
ShalokShalomI see00:47
ShalokShalomSo it goes Wayland > Mir > Openbox00:47
ShalokShalomAnd Mir is the compositor in this one?00:47
tsimonq2Yeah.00:47
ShalokShalomAh I see00:47
ShalokShalomNice idea00:47
ShalokShalomCuz so you get NVidia support00:48
tsimonq2Yeah.00:48
ShalokShalomI just hope that Mir wont stop developing itself00:48
ShalokShalomSince sooner or later, Wayland probably gets NVidia support00:48
ShalokShalomOr is this not the only reason?00:49
tsimonq2NVIDIA already has a protocol for Wayland, but nobody wants to use it.00:49
tsimonq2Mir already has the support for that protocol.00:49
ShalokShalomAh yeah, that one00:54
ShalokShalomAnd how is it, performance wise?00:55
ShalokShalomDoes NVidia already run at Lubuntu?00:55
ShalokShalomAt Qt, ofc00:56
tsimonq2Yeah.00:59
tsimonq2We don't have performance specs, yet.00:59
ShalokShalomPassword for the live system?01:16
tsimonq2There is none.01:16
ShalokShalomHnn. How to come back from SDDM then?01:16
tsimonq2Hmm, I don't recall if SDDM has that support yet... why did you log out anyway? :)01:17
ShalokShalomI tried an obviously "too high" resolution in Virtualbox, it kicked me into the login manager for it01:17
tsimonq2huh01:17
ShalokShalomIt started with 800x60001:17
ShalokShalomSo I tried to increase that to the maximum what my monitor supports01:18
ShalokShalomWhich leads me into SDDM :P01:18

qwebirc27804I need a bit of support can someone help me?08:24
diogenes_!ask | qwebirc2780408:28
ubottuqwebirc27804: Please don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience08:28
qwebirc27804I downloaded Lubuntu 18.04 LTS 64 bit from https://www.ubuntu-it.org/download/derivate And i wrote it to a 4gb USb using Win32DiskImager. I installed it on a old pc everything works fine. Then i tried to install it on my pc which have windows 10 in it atm (want to remove and use lubuntu). lalitmeehello guys, How I will increase the font size in the applications of lubuntu?16:00
leszeklalitmee: have you taken a look at the font settings?16:03
leszekyou can freely set a font size there. Though I am not aware of application scaling if you need that (for high dpi displays)16:03
lalitmeeleszek: Actually I tried everything and I am able to increase the font size of the status bar and menu bar but I want to increase the font size in Google Chrome at 100% zoom but its having very small font. that's why I was asking16:05
leszeklalitmee: ah ok thats something you need to control and configure in chromium/chrome itself16:05
lalitmeeleszek: really?16:06
leszekon lxde there is no application scaling afaik thats the reason why16:06
leszekyou can try raising the overall dpi for fonts. Though there is no GUI for this I think16:07
lalitmeeand where I will raise the overall dpi of fonts. I mean in which setting option?16:09
leszeklalitmee: you can run xrandr --dpi XXX whatever value you want16:34
leszekand can add it to the autostart. Hopefully that works16:34
lalitmeeleszek: actually I increased the font size from google chrome settings16:41
lalitmeethank you so much for helping :)16:41
leszeknp :)16:43

shalokshalomthis is your daily build from yesterday17:27
shalokshalomYou can solve that due rebuilds, probably mesa17:28
shalokshalomMaybe its also xorg, since the issue also disappeared due to a downgrade to 1.1917:33
wxlshalokshalom: this is a support channel for released versions. i'd go to #lubuntu-devel for stuff related to the daily/18.1017:40
