[00:34] I'm trying to build my package in pbuilder, but I get a strange error that I don't understand: http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/GFmSWBQ7BS/ [00:34] it says that it can't satisfy a dependency because it's a "virtual package" [00:34] hm, sorry this is probbly the wrong channel for this === cpaelzer_ is now known as cpaelzer === chihchun_afk is now known as chihchun === chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk === chihchun_afk is now known as chihchun === chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk [17:07] I'm trying to follow the instructions located here: https://help.launchpad.net/Code/Git#Mirroring_repositories_from_other_sites [17:07] however, I don't see anywhere in my launchpad that says "configuration options" [17:07] does anyone know where I may find this link? [17:20] ezzieyguywuf: As it says, it's on the main page for a project you maintain (not your user page or whatever) [17:49] cjwatson: I've navigated here (https://launchpad.net/~ezzieyguywuf/+archive/ubuntu/occwrapper) which is the main page for a project I maintain [17:49] but there is nothing here about "configuration options" [17:51] cjwatson: here's what I see https://pasteboard.co/HIB3xdU.png [17:55] ezzieyguywuf: That's a PPA, not a project. [17:55] ezzieyguywuf: What exactly are you trying to do? [17:57] cjwatson: I want to mirror my git repository, which is hosted on gittlab, and then create a recipe that will build deb packages based on new tags [17:58] ezzieyguywuf: And you're the upstream maintainer of this thing - it isn't a fork of something that somebody else maintains? [18:00] cjwatson: that's correct [18:00] ezzieyguywuf: Probably best to register a project to hold the git import, then. https://help.launchpad.net/Projects/Registering [18:01] cjwatson: ah, I see. [18:01] I'm still learning the terminology. I did not realize that "Project" had special significance over "PPA" [18:01] can you expound a bit as to what the differences are? [18:02] Right, it's a different category. A project is a representation of an upstream project, with various optional things attached to it like bug tracking, code hosting, etc.; a PPA (personal package archive) is just an environment for publishing .deb packages. [18:02] Neither replaces the other. [18:02] ah hah, I see. Well "Project" is definitely what I'm looking for then [18:02] You need both [18:03] right [18:03] ok this is starting to make more sense, thank you for the help. [18:05] np [18:59] g'day, looks like https://launchpad.net/~openstack-ubuntu-testing/+archive/ubuntu/queens/+build/15524820 is a stalled build?
