petskiHi all, I would like to upgrade my (pxe) 14.04.5 image with a newer kernel than the default 4.4.0-31-generic. Which steps would you recommend? (Can I find the iso build script/procedure anywhere online? My current approach would be to unpack the latest udebs, and hack a new initrd.gz/vmlinuz, not sure if that would be successful)09:31
petskiThe official #ubuntu-iso channel is empty, so that's why I ask my question here. Please let me know if I'm in the wrong place.09:33
xnoxpetski, why don't you just download d-i builds for trusty, with updated kernel?11:58
xnoxpetski, see directories in http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty-updates/main/installer-amd64/current/images/11:59
xnoxpetski, i'd recommend xenial-netboot as it should have xenial kernel in it.11:59
xnoxpetski, or do you mean rebuild that, but get even newer than 4.4.0-31 kernel?12:00
xnoxpetski, just $ pull-lp-source debian-installer trusty12:00
xnoxadjust kernel versions, and use sbuild to build that12:00
petskixnox, thanks for your reply, very helpful indeed!12:44
