DragnslcrKatnip- 18.04.1 is part of the 18.04's support, so there is no difference13:14
Exterminadorhello folks. I've installed Kubuntu for the 1st time. I'm used to use Ctrl+Alt+T in Xubuntu to open the terminal. what's the key combo in Kubuntu? also, how can I make right Ctrl key as right Shift key? thanks in advance13:16
DragnslcrYou can go to System Settings -> Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts to create shortcuts to run programs13:32
DragnslcrThere may already be one for Run Konsole under Examples13:33
Exterminadorand how about to map Ctrl_R to Shift_R13:58
ExterminadorI've been searching but I don't find any easy way14:12

francishHi all, when I create a new file on the Desktop or within Dolphin (right clic then Create new file) the file is created but the group is "root" instead of my defaut group. Any idea ?15:55
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> @francish, I am unable to duplicate the root ownership issue. What version of Kubuntu?16:37
ttdI actually have an issue that anyone can reacreate16:38
ttdbut always too lazy to make a bugreport for KDE ppl16:38
ttdSystem tray, if you for example select "Show All entries"16:38
ttdyou can't open any of the icons :D16:39
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Never noticed system tray issues, but I agree, it does have some interactive bugs.16:52
francishversion 18.10. It only happens for my account. I tested for another account and it's working fine16:54
francishHi ttd, I don't have this issue, icons are working when all displayed16:56
ttdfrancish, when you in settings select show all entries?16:56
ttd"Always show all entries"16:56
TomTomfrancish: different primary groups set?16:57
ttdThen whenever I want to click on wifi, for example, I get the whole system tray popup and not the Wifi menu16:57
ttdTLDR: I get "Status & Notifications" instead of Wifi(or any of the system tray item) menu16:57
ttdand this has been persistent for multiple versions of KDE, Kubuntu(18.04, 18.10) as well as Fedora KDE, OpenSUSE16:58
francishI checked allways show all entries and icons are working. However I noticed checking "show all entries" first time displayed everything, now it isn't ! Strange behavior...16:59
francishThanks Tomtom, how can I check that I would have several primary groups set ?17:02
TomTomyou can only set one... id -ng17:04
francishmy gid is right17:05
francishstrange, when I create a directory using the same right clic it is created with my primary group17:06
francishonly files are created with GID = root17:08
TomTomsome sticky bit set? does it also happen on the cmdline?17:15
francishtouch is working properly.17:16
=== grumble is now known as SeasonsGreetings
francishwhen I copy a file from /usr/share/foo to my hom using Dolphin the group becomes "root" (same as origin). When I do it with a commande line it is my primary group, hence ok17:29
ttdI have a problem - Konversation joins #kubuntu and #ubuntu channels too quickly after connecting, so I get forwarded to unregistered channel18:08
ttdany ideas? I couldnt find any setting to change this behaviour18:08
Captain_Haddockttd: Add your nick's password as the server password.18:38
Dragnslcrttd- in the Identities settings, change the Auto Identify type to SASL Plain18:52
DragnslcrThat will identify you while connecting, instead of waiting until after you've connected18:53
