[16:31] Anyone have drivers for M-Audio USB Midi 2x2? [16:32] Im using the M-Audio Midisport 2x2 and I need the driver so the computer will see it. [16:38] That sounds wrong. If the M-Audio Midisport 2x2 will work with the mac it should just work with linux with the standard USB 2 drivers [16:40] What makes you think the computer doesn't "see" the audio device? [16:42] it is not powering and MIDI signal is notpassing through. [16:42] I didjust find er is a firmware for Midisport to load. [16:43] I loadd the firmware using sudo apt-get install midisport-firmware [16:43] How does this device deal with running on a mac? [16:43] Not sure. The M-Audio site lists there is a driver for linux and MAC but nothin to download. [16:44] I need to try a reboot so he new firmware oads. [16:45] Apple has designed the mac to never load device drivers. They have rather told device manufactures that their device must meet USB2.0 specs to be used on the mac [16:47] Thanks for he discussion on MACs. Really helpful on a Ubuntu Studio topic. [16:48] the reason it is important is because if a device works on a mac, then it should just work on linux/ubuntu as well [16:49] linux uses the same method of dealing with audio devices as the mac does. (at a driver level) [21:40] Need help getting default Audio devise set in Ubuntu Studio 18.10 [21:41] I have spent all day getting the MIDI to work with Rosegarden and it is working right now. [21:41] Audio interface is USB Focusrite [21:42] When I use command; pactl list short sources I get that all audio sources are Suspended [21:44] 0 alsa_output.pci-0000_00_14.2.analog-stereo.monitor module-alsa-card.c s16le 2ch 44100Hz SUSPENDED 1 alsa_input.pci-0000_00_14.2.analog-stereo module-alsa-card.c s16le 2ch 44100Hz SUSPENDED [21:45] I have older computer with Ubuntu Studio 18.4 and it was truly plug and play. [21:46] Any direction is welcome.
