[17:03] <om26er>       DISPLAY: ":0"
[17:03] <om26er>       XAUTHORITY: "$HOME/.Xauthority"
[17:04] <om26er> given the background service runs as "root" and in that case $HOME becomes /root, I created a symbolic link of /home/my_user_name/.Xauthority to /root/.Xauthority
