[00:36] DarinMiller, I followed the steps past Tsep 4 [00:36] so: [00:36] lsmod | grep snd -> this yielded a bunch of lines [00:37] aplay -l also yielded a few devices, including my integrated sound [00:37] and it shows up in alsamixer [00:37] so why doesn't kde see it? [00:37] or mplayer [00:37] for that matter [00:37] like, what is pulseaudio configured to do? [00:39] Hard to say without the ability to directly interact. Does the sound work correctly when booted from a live USB? [00:43] right, that's always the thing to test it against [00:43] well, that's worth a try; it did work all the way up until last week or so [00:52] sound has been working quite well in KDE over last few years, so my troubleshooting is a bit rusty (not that it was all that great in the 1st place)... [00:55] :) [00:55] you're helping me a lot here in diagnosing it [00:55] so we got it to somewhere between pulseaudio and the sound card drivers [00:55] I mean, how can I play a sound on a sepcific device [00:56] or actually [00:56] so I do "mp *" and it plays but I hear no sound. [00:56] DarinMiller: https://pastebin.com/LKsPFGuY [00:57] when the sound is playing use the sys tray icon to drag app to the desired device. Kind of awkward but it works. [00:58] [00:58] sahh [00:58] *ahh [01:32] Sorry for the delay, I could not find the video and specticle under wayland needs a lot of work. Essentially drag sound application from this tab to the devices tab: [01:32] (Photo, 687x610) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/rmjlgXom/file_12123.jpg [01:33] Like this: [01:33] (Photo, 692x608) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/2sv8y7UI/file_12124.jpg [01:34] Drop the application on the desited device. My analog device is the acitve, thus only the LG (bluetooth headset) is highlighted.... [04:39] Can someone help when compiling from git?
