phoe6My monitor settings are not getting saved in Lubuntu 18.10 - Is that a known bug?02:49
lynorianphoe6:  are you pressing the save button in lxqt-config-monitor?02:50
phoe6Yes, I am02:50
phoe6Those are stored in the dialog.02:50
phoe6But when I reboot the computer,  those were off.02:51
lynorianphoe6: do they not show up when you press the settings button?02:51
phoe6They do. But not applied the second time.02:51
phoe6when I reboot, they are not applied.02:52
lubot<JyotiGomes> @phoe6 [<phoe6> My monitor settings are not getting saved in Lubuntu 18.10 - Is that a k …], I also use the Lubuntu 1810. This happens to me in relation to the use of the projector: the configuration of mirroring the images between the laptop monitor and the projector has to be reintroduced and recorded every time I connect the lap03:35
lubottop to the projector. But on windows, just choose this setting once and record.03:35
phoe6Yeah, same with Mac too. Unfortunately, I have to do this everytime with Lubuntu 18.10 with an external monitor setup.03:36
sappheirosis there a CD copying software better than Sound Juicer?03:48
sappheirosfor opus or other voice-based (audiobook) file format?03:48
lubot<tsimonq2> Hm, k3b?03:50
lubot<tsimonq2> If you don't get an answer here, try #ubuntu03:50
lubot<JyotiGomes> A person who has a computer on which I installed Lubuntu 1810 asked me if I could remove PCManFm-Qt and install only Nautilus. What could be the consequences in terms of use and stability, both now and later when it is necessary to upgrade to Lubuntu 1904?03:54
guivercJyotiGomes: Nautilus is GTK+ based; thus will cause those libraries to be loaded into memory (pcmanfm-qt uses Qt libs like the Lubuntu desktop, so they're already in memory). The consequence I'd suspect would be wasting resources (esp memory, but also cpu cycles - ie. a slower machine).  The machine will dictate how significant this will be, and if a problem.  I'd suggest not removing pcmanfm-qt, just adding Nautilus if they prefer it...04:29
lubot<JyotiGomes> @guiverc [<guiverc> JyotiGomes: Nautilus is GTK+ based; thus will cause those libraries to …], Me also, i think that is better to keep pcmanfm-qt. It is very good and lighter. The only one problem i noticied is the lack of the location indication. if not this, is perfect04:35
guiverc@JyotiGomes:  maybe `dolphin` will have what is wanted; it's KDE so Qt based too, and will have less impact I suspect04:43
lubot<JyotiGomes> @guiverc [<guiverc> @JyotiGomes:  maybe `dolphin` will have what is wanted; it's KDE so Qt …], Thank you. For now, I will try to persuade the person to stay with PCManFm-qt 😊04:54
sappheirosthanks. k3b wasn't working for me for some reason -- oh, it was musicbrainz compatibility problem05:03
sappheirosor cddb05:03
sappheirosi couldn't look up cd info or figure out how to add it05:03
lubot<JyotiGomes> Hi! With Lubuntu 1604 LXDE is it better to use Falkon or Midori as a lightwheith browser?14:00
Mead1604? is that even still supported?14:09
lynorianouch @JoytiGomes Falkon was still qupzilla back then and that old version of qupzilla wasn't the best but I don't think midori was either15:13
lynorian16.04 is still supported as it is lts for a few months by us15:14
lubot<tsimonq2> @Mead [<Mead> 1604? is that even still supported?], Yup15:40
lubot<N0um3n0> @Mead [<Mead> 1604? is that even still supported?], 3 years15:49
lubot<JyotiGomes> @lynorian [<lynorian> 16.04 is still supported as it is lts for a few months by us], Not just 16.04. I installed the 14.04 in a friend's laptop and yesterday i realized that he has some system updates...18:49
lubot<JyotiGomes> At least, it seemed to me that they were not just application updates. But I may be wrong. Anyway, there were updates to do after about fifteen days without making updates (as my friend, actually cousin, does not know Linux well, I deactivated notifications of updates and upgrades). I am talking about Lubuntu 1404.18:54
lubot<aptghetto> Lubu 14.04 is kind of supported until april 2019.19:17
lubot<JyotiGomes> @aptghetto [Lubu 14.04 is kind of supported until april 2019.], Yes20:36
