[02:49] My monitor settings are not getting saved in Lubuntu 18.10 - Is that a known bug? [02:50] phoe6: are you pressing the save button in lxqt-config-monitor? [02:50] Yes, I am [02:50] Those are stored in the dialog. [02:51] But when I reboot the computer, those were off. [02:51] phoe6: do they not show up when you press the settings button? [02:51] They do. But not applied the second time. [02:52] when I reboot, they are not applied. [03:35] @phoe6 [ My monitor settings are not getting saved in Lubuntu 18.10 - Is that a k …], I also use the Lubuntu 1810. This happens to me in relation to the use of the projector: the configuration of mirroring the images between the laptop monitor and the projector has to be reintroduced and recorded every time I connect the lap [03:35] top to the projector. But on windows, just choose this setting once and record. [03:36] Yeah, same with Mac too. Unfortunately, I have to do this everytime with Lubuntu 18.10 with an external monitor setup. [03:48] is there a CD copying software better than Sound Juicer? [03:48] for opus or other voice-based (audiobook) file format? [03:50] Hm, k3b? [03:50] If you don't get an answer here, try #ubuntu [03:54] A person who has a computer on which I installed Lubuntu 1810 asked me if I could remove PCManFm-Qt and install only Nautilus. What could be the consequences in terms of use and stability, both now and later when it is necessary to upgrade to Lubuntu 1904? [04:29] JyotiGomes: Nautilus is GTK+ based; thus will cause those libraries to be loaded into memory (pcmanfm-qt uses Qt libs like the Lubuntu desktop, so they're already in memory). The consequence I'd suspect would be wasting resources (esp memory, but also cpu cycles - ie. a slower machine). The machine will dictate how significant this will be, and if a problem. I'd suggest not removing pcmanfm-qt, just adding Nautilus if they prefer it... [04:35] @guiverc [ JyotiGomes: Nautilus is GTK+ based; thus will cause those libraries to …], Me also, i think that is better to keep pcmanfm-qt. It is very good and lighter. The only one problem i noticied is the lack of the location indication. if not this, is perfect [04:43] @JyotiGomes: maybe `dolphin` will have what is wanted; it's KDE so Qt based too, and will have less impact I suspect [04:54] @guiverc [ @JyotiGomes: maybe `dolphin` will have what is wanted; it's KDE so Qt …], Thank you. For now, I will try to persuade the person to stay with PCManFm-qt 😊 [05:03] thanks. k3b wasn't working for me for some reason -- oh, it was musicbrainz compatibility problem [05:03] or cddb [05:03] i couldn't look up cd info or figure out how to add it [14:00] Hi! With Lubuntu 1604 LXDE is it better to use Falkon or Midori as a lightwheith browser? [14:09] 1604? is that even still supported? [15:13] ouch @JoytiGomes Falkon was still qupzilla back then and that old version of qupzilla wasn't the best but I don't think midori was either [15:14] 16.04 is still supported as it is lts for a few months by us [15:40] @Mead [ 1604? is that even still supported?], Yup [15:49] @Mead [ 1604? is that even still supported?], 3 years [18:49] @lynorian [ 16.04 is still supported as it is lts for a few months by us], Not just 16.04. I installed the 14.04 in a friend's laptop and yesterday i realized that he has some system updates... [18:54] At least, it seemed to me that they were not just application updates. But I may be wrong. Anyway, there were updates to do after about fifteen days without making updates (as my friend, actually cousin, does not know Linux well, I deactivated notifications of updates and upgrades). I am talking about Lubuntu 1404. [19:17] Lubu 14.04 is kind of supported until april 2019. [20:36] @aptghetto [Lubu 14.04 is kind of supported until april 2019.], Yes
