SeTunTunhello. I installed xubuntu 18.04 in my laptop some days ago and i have n sound. I tried everything whith no luck.10:16
SeTunTunplease help.10:16
diogenes_SeTunTun, did you have sound right after the installation?10:20
SeTunTunno. if i run alsamixer, there is a "headphones" level that is alwys at 0. If the voluume is at 100 it works but everytime i reboot it goes down to 0.10:22
diogenes_SeTunTun, so your problem is that you have sound but it defaults to 010:23
SeTunTuni also tried sudo alsactl store with no luck. anyway, it is very strange that the internal speaker is linked to the headphone level. Everything seems to be wrong10:23
SeTunTunalso whn i connect the headphones...tey don't work. and i am never asked if they are headphones or a microphone (ths happened in ubuntu 14.04 and it was great beacause my computer only has a jack for both things)10:25
knomeSeTunTun, have you tried running pavucontrol -- aka the volume control application -- and see if your device is listed there?10:33
SeTunTuni am now there in output devices where i can see two options "speakers" and "headphones"10:38
SeTunTunbut i can't see any intel integrated sound card10:39
SeTunTunany idea?11:10
brainwashSeTunTun: I suggest that you head over to #ubuntu11:10
brainwashyour issue does not seem to be specific to xubuntu, but a general sound problem11:11
SeTunTunthank you brainwash, I'll tray there later11:12
SeTunTunby the way, should there be a "sound" icon in the preferences panel of xubuntu?11:14
brainwashSeTunTun: preferences panel?11:27
