=== brainwash_ is now known as brainwash [10:16] hello. I installed xubuntu 18.04 in my laptop some days ago and i have n sound. I tried everything whith no luck. [10:16] please help. [10:20] SeTunTun, did you have sound right after the installation? [10:22] no. if i run alsamixer, there is a "headphones" level that is alwys at 0. If the voluume is at 100 it works but everytime i reboot it goes down to 0. [10:23] SeTunTun, so your problem is that you have sound but it defaults to 0 [10:23] i also tried sudo alsactl store with no luck. anyway, it is very strange that the internal speaker is linked to the headphone level. Everything seems to be wrong [10:25] also whn i connect the headphones...tey don't work. and i am never asked if they are headphones or a microphone (ths happened in ubuntu 14.04 and it was great beacause my computer only has a jack for both things) [10:33] SeTunTun, have you tried running pavucontrol -- aka the volume control application -- and see if your device is listed there? [10:38] i am now there in output devices where i can see two options "speakers" and "headphones" [10:39] but i can't see any intel integrated sound card [11:10] any idea? [11:10] SeTunTun: I suggest that you head over to #ubuntu [11:11] your issue does not seem to be specific to xubuntu, but a general sound problem [11:12] thank you brainwash, I'll tray there later [11:14] by the way, should there be a "sound" icon in the preferences panel of xubuntu? [11:27] SeTunTun: preferences panel? [12:31] sorry, i mean settngs [13:16] hello xubuntuers!! [13:16] does that even coumt as a word? hehe.. [13:17] hello [13:17] how do you guys make your xfce desktop look great? === sorinello1 is now known as sorinello
