Guest35dmnur Have you found the bug?00:01
dmnurGuest35: that's the whole log? Also, you said you've seen the crash report, but is bluetoothd still running?00:03
Guest35dmnur yes the crash report I think is whoopsie process00:04
dmnurGuest35: yeah. In that terminal window with bluetoothd, what happens there now?00:05
Guest35dmnur I not understand, I send yolu the bluetoothd full log00:06
dmnurGuest35: to summarize. You sent the file to your smartphone, and that was successful. You see the file on your smartphone. Right?00:09
Guest35yes00:10
dmnurGuest35: even though there was a crash report window.00:10
Guest35yes00:11
dmnurGuest35: OK. Funny thing.00:12
dmnurGuest35: let's try receiving files then...00:12
Guest35I should try smartphone to pc?00:12
dmnurGuest35: open `blueman-manager` and try sending some file *from* your smartphone.00:12
Guest35smartphone show me that file as sended but incoming folder is empty and also crash report as been showed00:15
dmnurGuest35: what about the Downloads folder? And show bluetoothd output again.00:16
Guest35this is smartphone to pc https://pastebin.com/TAsNvdfC00:18
dmnurGuest35: pgrep -fl obexd00:24
Guest352045 obexd00:25
dmnurGuest35: kill 2045; /usr/lib/bluetooth/obexd -n -d00:28
Guest35Uploaded file: https://uploads.kiwiirc.com/files/670fd0a2cb0c44968c353dd645aca31a/pasted.txt00:28
dmnurGuest35: then try sending again and show me what obexd is outputting.00:28
Guest35dmnur smartphone show me that file as not been sended00:29
dmnurGuest35: killall -w obexd; /usr/lib/bluetooth/obexd -n -d00:29
Guest35file not sended00:31
dmnurGuest35: and the same output from obexd?00:31
Guest35https://pastebin.com/fuiddN8800:32
dmnurGuest35: alright, that's something!00:33
Guest35dmnur where is the bug00:34
dmnurGuest35: press Ctrl-C and then run again: /usr/lib/bluetooth/obexd -n -d -r $HOME00:36
dmnurGuest35: this time you should see the received file in your home directory.00:36
Guest35no, file not sended00:37
dmnurGuest35: OK, show the log again.00:38
Guest35dmnur https://pastebin.com/X4jYQk9G00:39
dmnurGuest35: hmm. Let's try this: /usr/lib/bluetooth/obexd -n -r /tmp -a -d00:49
Guest35yes work00:50
dmnurGuest35: do you see your file in /tmp?00:51
Guest35yes00:51
Guest35I have run man obexd but manual not found00:51
dmnurGuest35: so actually it works... OK, now: gsettings get org.blueman.transfer shared-path00:51
Guest35gsettings get org.blueman.transfer shared-path return: '/home/carmelo/Scaricati'00:52
dmnurGuest35: no manual, yeah, but you have built-in help: /usr/lib/bluetooth/obexd --help00:52
dmnurGuest35: ls -ld /home/carmelo/Scaricati00:53
Guest35last command what do you do00:54
dmnurGuest35: I want to check permissions to that directory.00:54
dmnurGuest35: probably obexd just can't write to it.00:54
Guest35drwxr-xr-x 2 carmelo carmelo 4096 gen 26 15:23 /home/carmelo/Scaricati00:54
dmnurGuest35: well, then I guess the `-a` option helped.00:55
Guest35than?00:56
dmnurGuest35: one moment.00:56
dmnurGuest35: open `blueman-services`. Go to the "Transfer" tab, there is an option to enable/disable file receiving. Is it set?01:00
Guest35incoming folder is set to scaricati01:01
dmnurGuest35: and the check box?01:01
dmnurGuest35: on or off?01:02
Guest35in the menu selection there are two elements 'Scaricati'01:02
Guest35check box accept file from authorized device?01:02
dmnurGuest35: yes, this.01:02
Guest35is not check01:02
dmnurGuest35: I guess that was the issue!01:03
Guest35I check it?01:03
dmnurGuest35: reboot, make sure this check box is set and try again.01:03
dmnurGuest35: just as usual, without manually starting bluetoothd and obexd.01:04
Guest35should I reboot the pc?01:05
dmnurGuest35: your Bluetooth adapter works fine, it's just that receiving files wasn't allowed.01:05
Guest35I check the box but should I reboot the pc?01:05
dmnurGuest35: yes, just to make sure everything is in its clean state. And after you boot, check again if the checkbox is set.01:06
Guest35ok I reboot...01:06
Guest94dmnur nothing file not send01:11
dmnurGuest94: open `blueman-manager`, right click your smartphone there and then select "Trust".01:13
Guest94dmnur I have resolved setting first into tmp folder and than change it to scaricati01:13
Guest94now works01:14
dmnurGuest94: ah, OK.01:14
dmnurGuest94: so works with /tmp, but not with "Scaricati"? Or now works with "Scaricati" too?01:15
Guest94yes :D01:15
Guest94dmnur It's late, we'll talk in days later, I'd like to talk about something else ...01:16
dmnurGuest94: haha! Have no idea why that helped.01:16
dmnurGuest94: yeah, see you later. Bye.01:17
Guest94Ok thanks alot ;-)01:17
Guest94good night01:17

SeTunTunhello. I am having a problem with pulseaudio addon. I can see in the volume panel the main players i use (rhythmbox and audacious) but the control buttons in the panel doesn't seem to work.19:02
SeTunTuni installed xubuntu 18.04 in two different machines and they have the same problem.19:02
diogenes_SeTunTun, look in synaptic for mpris19:03
diogenes_SeTunTun, there is this package rhytmbox-plugins19:05

SeTunTundiogenes_, i already have rhythmbox-plugins and i can't find mppris. I found mpdris2. Is it the same?19:10

SeTunTun:)19:11
diogenes_as far as i can remember19:11
diogenes_you can right click on the sound icon and configure it to control the player you want19:11

JohnMLogin problem. After chasing out some 'bloat' by uninstalling a few applications I don't use, I am unable to log in. Login greeter appears normally, the password is accepted but then comes the blank screen. I use Ctrl-Alt F1 (or F@2 or F3 etc) which pulls up a login for the terminal window which asks for a login user and then a password. I give the same name and password as I used on the greeter but the password is flagged as wrong.20:27
brainwashJohnM: what did you uninstall? log files can be found in /var/log/apt/20:34
JohnMI only recall uninstalling applications, specifically about 4 that I don't use but names I've forgotten. Can't use /var/log/apt/ as I can't log in at all.20:37
brainwashboot into safe mode20:37
JohnMCan you be more specific? I have the greeter scree with users names OK but none of those will go anywhere.20:40
