[01:08] -lugito:#lubuntu-devel- [T71: Battery status not updating properly on laptops] guiverc (Chris Guiver) commented on the task: https://phab.lubuntu.me/T71#1063 [01:24] @guiverc try debian on the other machines [01:26] i haven't finished my testing; what i got so far was inconclusive in my opinion, but yeah i did see a jump with debian (the 3% one could just be computational due to my old battery..) [01:30] one comment: lubuntu is more polished is my conclusion; eg. the wireless is a pain in debian to connect (even excluding non-free issues) [01:47] i agree [01:56] guiverc: you might want to run `watch 'upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0 | grep percentage` and keep track of how that value compares to what's being reported by lxqt-powermanagement [01:59] :) thanks wxl - that'll be really useful [01:59] guiverc: `watch 'cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/capacity'` should give you just the number [01:59] if you have any problems with those, you might try BAT1 instead of BAT0 [02:00] would probably have guessed; esp. if i used j3400 (two batteries) for testing.. [02:01] yeah === guiverc_d is now known as guiverc [04:32] Ohai from SEA [04:39] Hey wxl this time zone sucks XD [04:54] tsimonq2: scale has the same time zone [04:54] lynorian: don't feed the troll [04:55] XDDFD [04:55] *XD [05:03] what aspect ratio does lfnw use for the slides? Had to add bootia32.efi to /efi/boot/ in the ISO because of hardware, but then it installed to disk w/ no issues and has been a bit slow, but still smooth as butter since. [15:52] Great to hear the report. MacBook EFI can be a little weird. I am glad you got it working. [15:58] And it will be staying. So if anything comes up you need tested on a limited resource laptop give a call. [15:58] Thanks @Dreamingwolf [15:59] @Dreamingwolf Could you please show `cat /sys/firmware/efi/platform_size` [16:00] I remember that we had (in the good old times) a task to add also the grub-efi packages for 32 bit [16:02] Let me get back to my desk. The 2007 was a wonky build, 64bit system architecture, but a 32bit boot environment. [16:02] Exactly, it is for an amd64 iso, but with an 32-bit UEFI [16:07] It was under fw_platform_size, but it came back as 32 [16:10] Yeah, sorry [16:11] AFAIK, here it is the logic => https://phab.lubuntu.me/source/calamares-settings-ubuntu/browse/master/lubuntu/modules/before_bootloader_context.conf [16:12] Theoretically it should check your fw_platform_size and select different grub packages [16:14] Which it did perfectly, because it boots 32 but neofetch reports running system to be x86_64. [17:00] Hi Does Lubuntu support all the packages that is available in ubuntu versions [17:03] you can install them. [18:26] We should put that in the Private Use Area on the Ubuntu font [18:27] ^ that [18:50] Just for fun: What should happen, when I choose "Openbox" at the login screen and then login? [18:50] A) A wonderful black screen with a mousecursor appears [18:50] B) Something else [18:51] apt-ghetto: black screen with mouse cursor is default openbox [18:51] probably not. there isn't a config for that session. [18:52] right click should give you a menu though. [18:54] Shouldn't there be a wallpaper or at least a logo?
