craigbass76 | I just got an ergonomic mouse, and it's left-handed. I'm a lefty, so that's fine. But, the buttons are backwards. I'm used to just using a righty mouse, and don't ever switch the buttons. Is there a way to switch them for THIS mouse, but not any of the others that I plug in? Maybe based on the 1bcf:0053 number I see when I run lsusb? | 01:26 |

qwebirc11435 | hello, I have following problem: 1. grub boots into a black screen 2. I turn the computer manually off 3. Turn machine back on --> this time, instead of booting the OS, grub menu shows up with a countdown of 30 sec 4. I push enter and OS loads as expected the first time. What am I missing? | 13:52 |
diogenes_ | qwebirc11435, it happens on reboot only or on every boot? | 13:56 |
qwebirc11435 | Hi diogenes_, thanks for replying. It happens every time. | 13:58 |
diogenes_ | qwebirc11435, and after what change/event/installation/upgrade this issue started to occur? | 13:59 |
qwebirc11435 | I really don't know. I remember it working just fine until I started noticing that. It must have been after a regular update. It was nothing specific. I have Xubuntu 18.04... | 14:01 |
diogenes_ | qwebirc11435, try: systemctl disable plymouthd | 14:02 |
qwebirc11435 | you mean, on the terminal, and then reboot? | 14:03 |
diogenes_ | yes | 14:03 |
qwebirc11435 | doesn't plymouth show the splash screen? Will the splash screen be gone? | 14:03 |
diogenes_ | first let's see if that fixes the problem. | 14:04 |
qwebirc11435 | only thing: if I restart, I w | 14:05 |
qwebirc11435 | ont have the same username on this chat, I suppose... | 14:05 |
qwebirc11435 | I'll save the name for reference... | 14:06 |
diogenes_ | doesn't matter. | 14:06 |
qwebirc11435 | alright, see u later | 14:06 |
qwebirc11435 | diogenes_ I get the following error: "Failed to disable unit: Unit file plymouthd.service does not exist." | 14:07 |
diogenes_ | then: systemctl disable plymouth | 14:08 |
qwebirc33476 | @diogenes_ I, prev. qwebirc11435, the command had no effect... | 14:14 |
diogenes_ | qwebirc33476, then it's something else, you can put plymouth back: systemctl enable plymouth | 14:15 |
diogenes_ | and now gtg, see you later. | 14:15 |

hans_ | think i found a bug, underscores in VSCode's terminal is invisible in Xubuntu 18.04, screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/8onOawY.png | 19:54 |
hans_ | probably an Xubuntu-theme-bug rather than a VSCode bug, but i'm not 100% sure on that | 19:54 |
hans_ | (one thing i can say for certain is that i can't reproduce it on VSCode running on windows 7 x64 SP1) | 19:59 |
brainwash | hans_: try another theme, try another font | 20:24 |
hans_ | brainwash, happens in both Adwaita and Adwaita-dark, what else should i check | 20:30 |
brainwash | hans_: adwaita is the Gnome theme though | 21:05 |
brainwash | hans_: you should should check pretty much everything | 21:06 |
brainwash | themes, fonts, vscode settings | 21:06 |
