IrcsomeBot<fairhb> Anyone familiar with DKMS, ALSA driver for "HDA Intel"?03:15
IrcsomeBot<ziguardian> Ask: Can I upgrade Kubuntu 19.04 to 19.10 or 20.04 LTS if release?03:40
valorie@ziguardian if you have 19.04 you'll be able to upgrade to 19.10 when it comes out, and then to the LTS when it is released03:45
valorieif you like to run LTS only, you can switch that at that time03:45
IrcsomeBot<ziguardian> @valorie, thanks. I have 19.04 installed on my laptop03:47
valorieme too03:47
valorie:-)03:47
valorieI've always had excellent luck with upgrades03:48
IrcsomeBot<ziguardian> (Photo, 1151x508) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/ima7cPps/file_16213.jpg Help: how to fix this? … Install app from terminal05:28
AlabalisticHi05:30
Alabalisticit is a easy fix05:31
Alabalisticgo to your software sources and choose a new servers05:31
Alabalisticwhat is your Desktop Envi05:31
IrcsomeBot<ziguardian> KDE05:32
AlabalisticI'm on xfce now and cant follow along05:32
Alabalisticbut normaly there is some broken link or lost server05:32
valorieAlabalistic is right -- there is either something wrong with your connection -- which since you are in irc/telegram, probably not so05:34
valorieor one of your archive URLs is dead for the moment05:34
valorie@ziguardian05:35
IrcsomeBot<ziguardian> @valorie, there is no problem with the internet05:35

IrcsomeBot<JJ_4884> @valorie, What site is the big report site? What is the preferred site for KDE Wayland feedback?06:36
valoriedo you mean bugs.kde.org?06:47
valorieor perhaps something like the Kwin devel list06:47
valoriedepends06:47
valorie@JJ_488406:47
valorieI mean all the plasma devels want feedback06:48
valorieso perhaps just the plasma devel list06:48
IrcsomeBot<JJ_4884> @valorie, How much is Plasma working to get Wayland to work? Is it distro dependent too?06:49
valorieall new commits they make must work in wayland06:49
valorieif they work in x, fine06:49
valoriebut wayland is the standard06:49
valoriethus all new development is about wayland06:50
=== kubuntu is now known as Guest41968
valorieas for distros -- yes, some of the wiring we (kubuntu) don't entirely control06:51
valorieprobably the same in most other distros unless they are KDE only06:52
valorielike neon -- which to some extent is also dependent on ubuntu06:52
IrcsomeBot<JJ_4884> So, if I have bugs in Kubuntu, and if the bugs are KDE dependent, not just Kubuntu, would those bugs be forwarded or would that be on my end?07:10
valoriebest to always report a bug to kubuntu07:12
valorieeasy way to do that is in the commandline `ubuntu-bug packagename`07:13
valorieand often good to also report to KDE -- and link your lp:bug#07:13
valoriein general we can only fix stuff that we (kubuntu) caused with a packaging error07:14
valoriebut no problem also reporting KDE bugs on LP07:14

lolcat-007it is possible to pass mp3 file to an iphone with amarok or rhymbox14:55
lolcat-007???14:55
BluesKajlolcat-007, whynot just use kdeconnect from the source folder14:56
lolcat-007BluesKaj: but kdeconnect doesnt work with ios14:58
lolcat-007i belive14:58
BluesKajoh right, what about bluetooth?15:01
geniiProbably the simplest way is just a small webserver page on the computer with whatever files in there you want to transfer, running only on an internal IP. Then connect iPhone to the network and point the web browser at that internal IP15:01
lolcat-007genii: what will it be15:09
lolcat-007the webserver page15:09
lolcat-007??15:09
geniiNo actual page. Just a folder you drop whatever files in that you want to transfer. Then you point Safari to that folder. It will just see a list of files there. Which you can click on to play or download.15:10
lolcat-007that doesnt seem the easier way15:12
geniiAnother tactic would be to find a CIFS/SMB client app for iPhone, then share a folder on the computer to it. But webserver method is better, don't need to install or configure anything new on the phone, and works with any platform that can use a web browser.15:12
BluesKajgenii, that webserver method is a great idea, never thought of that15:54
BluesKajfirst crash on 19.10,  looks like init went down...guess a reboot is in order15:56

NeeknaimHello19:59
NeeknaimI installed kubuntu and updated it. It seems that muon can't find simple packages (krita, gimp) that discover does find. What's the problem?20:00
=== MANIAC is now known as Guest98010
valorieNeeknaim: hmmm20:48
valoriehaven't used muon in awhile20:48
valoriefor now I would file a bug20:48
valorieeasiest way is in the commandline: ubuntu-bug muon20:49
valorieI will say that afaik nobody is working on muon and all the work is on discover20:49
IrcsomeBot<zparihar> LOL, i'm looking forward to Kubuntu 20.0420:49
IrcsomeBot<zparihar> I wonder what the Plasma LTS would be? 5.18 perhaps?20:50
valorie@zparihar the plasma team is discussing21:28
valorieand some of our devels are also plasma devels21:28
Thr0rWhere can one place what you wish Next Plasma could do? I wish that it could display all my workspaces/Virtual desktops in one view - with live updating. I know all windows can be displayed by moving mouse to upper left corner but that is all started windows. I want it to display workspaces - with live updates of the Active windows pr. workspace..21:41
Thr0r...I have a very big monitor and I have the room for it - 58"21:45
valorieThr0r: there is #plasma and and a devel list21:57
valoriehttps://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/plasma-devel21:58
valorieit sounds a bit like tiling -- and there is a kwin tiling script21:58
Thr0rvalorie: Ok -Thanks - I will look into that.. Don't know what Kwin is but if the feature could be in plasma in the future that would kind of make Kubuntu Perfect for me. So far it has "fixed"/delivered SO many things I lack in other distros that I am very happy now..22:05
valoriekwin is the windowing22:05
valorieone can actually use plasma with another windowing application22:06
valorieand use kwin with another DE22:06
valoriebut they are developed together22:06
valorieglad to hear you like it!22:06
valoriehunt around for that kwin tiling script22:07
valorieI think it's on the kde store (free of course)22:07
Thr0rvalorie: Ok - but that's a kind of tweak or what? I would like it into Plasma - standard and supported...22:07
valorieah, quick google presents many to choose from22:07
Thr0rThe functionality - I mean22:08
valoriekwin tiling script22:08
valorieand errr, DDG not google22:08
valorie:-)22:08
