[03:40] Ask: Can I upgrade Kubuntu 19.04 to 19.10 or 20.04 LTS if release? [03:45] @ziguardian if you have 19.04 you'll be able to upgrade to 19.10 when it comes out, and then to the LTS when it is released [03:45] if you like to run LTS only, you can switch that at that time [03:47] @valorie, thanks. I have 19.04 installed on my laptop [03:47] me too [03:47] :-) [03:48] I've always had excellent luck with upgrades [05:28] (Photo, 1151x508) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/ima7cPps/file_16213.jpg Help: how to fix this? … Install app from terminal [05:30] Hi [05:31] it is a easy fix [05:31] go to your software sources and choose a new servers [05:31] what is your Desktop Envi [05:32] KDE [05:32] I'm on xfce now and cant follow along [05:32] but normaly there is some broken link or lost server [05:34] Alabalistic is right -- there is either something wrong with your connection -- which since you are in irc/telegram, probably not so [05:34] or one of your archive URLs is dead for the moment [05:35] @ziguardian [05:35] @valorie, there is no problem with the internet [05:38] IrcsomeBot: where on the gloub are you? [05:40] Indonesia [05:47] did you find the solution [05:47] or still searching [05:49] I solved them by select the "deb" files and install them one by one [05:50] great [05:51] Is it ok ? [05:53] of course it's ok [05:53] eventually the link between you and the archive will heal === shenyok is now known as help === help is now known as shenyok [05:56] Yes. Thanks for the help and information. [06:07] Good morning [06:17] morgen [06:36] @valorie, What site is the big report site? What is the preferred site for KDE Wayland feedback? [06:47] do you mean bugs.kde.org? [06:47] or perhaps something like the Kwin devel list [06:47] depends [06:47] @JJ_4884 [06:48] I mean all the plasma devels want feedback [06:48] so perhaps just the plasma devel list [06:49] @valorie, How much is Plasma working to get Wayland to work? Is it distro dependent too? [06:49] all new commits they make must work in wayland [06:49] if they work in x, fine [06:49] but wayland is the standard [06:50] thus all new development is about wayland === kubuntu is now known as Guest41968 [06:51] as for distros -- yes, some of the wiring we (kubuntu) don't entirely control [06:52] probably the same in most other distros unless they are KDE only [06:52] like neon -- which to some extent is also dependent on ubuntu [07:10] So, if I have bugs in Kubuntu, and if the bugs are KDE dependent, not just Kubuntu, would those bugs be forwarded or would that be on my end? [07:12] best to always report a bug to kubuntu [07:13] easy way to do that is in the commandline `ubuntu-bug packagename` [07:13] and often good to also report to KDE -- and link your lp:bug# [07:14] in general we can only fix stuff that we (kubuntu) caused with a packaging error [07:14] but no problem also reporting KDE bugs on LP === MANIAC is now known as Guest98572 === Guest85658 is now known as lordievader === alexandre is now known as Guest4169 === Guest4169 is now known as tipiak === ichoquo0Aigh9ie is now known as jacky === stephen is now known as Guest65453 [12:57] Hi folks === Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life === nero_ is now known as Guest38094 [14:55] it is possible to pass mp3 file to an iphone with amarok or rhymbox [14:55] ??? [14:56] lolcat-007, whynot just use kdeconnect from the source folder [14:58] BluesKaj: but kdeconnect doesnt work with ios [14:58] i belive [15:01] oh right, what about bluetooth? [15:01] Probably the simplest way is just a small webserver page on the computer with whatever files in there you want to transfer, running only on an internal IP. Then connect iPhone to the network and point the web browser at that internal IP [15:09] genii: what will it be [15:09] the webserver page [15:09] ?? [15:10] No actual page. Just a folder you drop whatever files in that you want to transfer. Then you point Safari to that folder. It will just see a list of files there. Which you can click on to play or download. [15:12] that doesnt seem the easier way [15:12] Another tactic would be to find a CIFS/SMB client app for iPhone, then share a folder on the computer to it. But webserver method is better, don't need to install or configure anything new on the phone, and works with any platform that can use a web browser. [15:54] genii, that webserver method is a great idea, never thought of that [15:56] first crash on 19.10, looks like init went down...guess a reboot is in order [15:57] brb === ShibaInu is now known as Shibe === capa is now known as capataci === juboxi is now known as jubo2 [18:09] Hans-Jürgen was added by: Hans-Jürgen [18:39] hello, as blocking the installation of programs [18:39] hola, como puedo bloquear la instalación de programas [18:41] I have an administrator account and another user account. [21:28] @zparihar the plasma team is discussing [21:28] and some of our devels are also plasma devels [21:41] Where can one place what you wish Next Plasma could do? I wish that it could display all my workspaces/Virtual desktops in one view - with live updating. I know all windows can be displayed by moving mouse to upper left corner but that is all started windows. I want it to display workspaces - with live updates of the Active windows pr. workspace.. [21:45] ...I have a very big monitor and I have the room for it - 58" [21:57] Thr0r: there is #plasma and and a devel list [21:58] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/plasma-devel [21:58] it sounds a bit like tiling -- and there is a kwin tiling script [22:05] valorie: Ok -Thanks - I will look into that.. Don't know what Kwin is but if the feature could be in plasma in the future that would kind of make Kubuntu Perfect for me. So far it has "fixed"/delivered SO many things I lack in other distros that I am very happy now.. [22:05] kwin is the windowing [22:06] one can actually use plasma with another windowing application [22:06] and use kwin with another DE [22:06] but they are developed together [22:06] glad to hear you like it! [22:07] hunt around for that kwin tiling script [22:07] I think it's on the kde store (free of course) [22:07] valorie: Ok - but that's a kind of tweak or what? I would like it into Plasma - standard and supported... [22:07] ah, quick google presents many to choose from [22:08] The functionality - I mean [22:08] kwin tiling script [22:08] and errr, DDG not google [22:08] :-) [23:49] Help: vlc media player cannot be opened
