[12:56] <waveform> ogra, thanks for the tip - handy to know. Still, psplash does work *after* boot even with the vc4 overlay in place - but /dev/fb0 exists by that point and there's a pile of kernel modules loaded which presumably have something to do with that (vc4, fb_sys_fops, etc.)
