[05:39] good morning [06:27] Morning didrocks [06:28] hey duflu === pstolowski|afk is now known as pstolowski [07:19] good morning desktoppers [07:26] salut oSoMoN [07:28] Morning oSoMoN [07:31] salut didrocks [07:32] hey duflu [08:01] morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! [08:01] * Laney is back in the hood [08:02] Hiya! [08:02] Morning Laney [08:02] and Gargoyle [08:02] peace Gargoyle and duflu [08:03] hey hey Laney! welcome back! Hope the trip was fun and fine :) [08:03] hey didrocks! [08:04] it was very nice yes, but now I've got a cold :'( [08:05] argh, due to AC? [08:05] or just traditional conference-flu? [08:06] hmm not so much AC around [08:06] probably a Debian based infection :P [08:06] hey Laney, welcome back to the old continent [08:06] GPL-ed disease [08:06] hey oSoMoN [08:06] how's it going? [08:06] https://wiki.debian.org/DebConf/19/Photos?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=debconf19_group.jpg [08:07] * Laney doesn't look so impressed in this picture /o\ [08:07] Laney: sounds like the merge worked then ;) [08:07] You should be able to figure out who to blame if it's GPL'd [08:07] I think they do one-commit-per-release [08:09] heh [08:10] That photo is like a game of Where's Laney [08:10] there's also an easter egg in that picture too [08:10] first person to identify what it is gets a beer at the next meeting [08:11] * didrocks found xnox but not Laney [08:12] :D [08:12] happy to have ruined the team's productivity [08:12] ;) [08:12] Laney: the cow teddy? [08:13] marcustomlinson: YEP! [08:13] Laney, a couple of people have torn faces, but that's probably a stitching error and not an easter egg [08:13] the guy by the tree is the photographer [08:14] he got stitched in later [08:14] and juliank gave him the cow toy [08:16] heh [08:56] * didrocks puzzled about hardening-no-pi on default go build, without any helper tweaked… [09:04] interesting, if you add the build-dep on golang-go explicitely (which was already installed), the pie issue goes out. I've never seen an helper depending on the build-depends list directly (like, reading it) [09:30] morning guyz [09:34] Morning Trevinho [09:34] hi duflu [09:39] hey Trevinho [09:41] hi didrocks [10:14] hi all 0/ [10:17] hey clobrano [10:18] hey didrocks, how's it going? [10:19] good, thanks, yourself? [11:18] Laney: Who from the desktop team is with Will in Toronto this week? [11:18] Just Ken? [11:20] hey Wimpress [11:20] I think robert_ancell is there too [11:21] OK, thanks. [11:21] I am not BTW. [11:21] Laney: Are you standing in for Seb this week? [11:22] I've found an issue with 18.04.2/3, HWE and nvidia 430 drivers. Just about to send and email and what to know who on desktop (other than Will and J_ibel) should get it. [11:22] in what sense? [11:23] I mean not officially, but feel free to copy me [11:23] and if it's nvidia then presumably tseliot too ;> [11:24] Just validating my findings before I send the mail. [11:25] good point though, who wants to run the team meeting later? [11:25] all the teachers are away [11:25] (i assume) [11:37] Wimpress: If it's a bug, should be filed and on the ISO tracker too so the people managing the point release can see it [11:38] Not that I can see a .3 milestone there... [11:38] sil2100: ^- you managing this one? [11:39] Laney: Looks like you may be the next in command re: the meeting [11:39] CAN'T MAKE ME [11:41] Wimpress: when it comes to nvidia, feel free to forward any issues to me too [11:42] I just want a working gnome-shell 3.33.4, is that so much to ask? [11:42] * Laney is going to have a tantrum [11:43] I'm off next week so I'm a bit stressed out about getting this stuff uploaded soon [11:44] at least the core parts of the desktop [12:00] https://people.canonical.com/~laney/weird-things/pixels.png yay [12:42] didrocks: oops, didn't see the reply. Very well, it seems I'll be in Thessaloniki at the end of August \0/ [12:43] clobrano: excellent! Hope you will enjoy GUADEC :) [12:44] didrocks: I'm sure I will [13:12] Laney: Adam is the main driver for .3 if anything, let me see if I have teh powers to create the milestone [13:12] (I assume I do not) [13:19] Laney: ah, you meant the QA tracker milestone? Since I see a .3 milestone on LP if anything [13:31] sil2100: yeah that [13:31] I mean the release is supposed to be in 2 days, but this implies that maybe it won't be? [13:32] guess we should have a meeting or something [13:32] Laney: yeah, it won't, there's a week-slip for .3 [13:32] Laney: Adam pushed it a week later to give the kernel guys more time to get things ready [13:33] hm, but indeed, that wasn't really announced anywhere [13:33] heh [13:34] k, good idea to do that :-) [13:34] now then: [13:34] #startmeeting desktop 2019-07-13 [13:34] Meeting started Tue Jul 30 13:34:28 2019 UTC. [13:58] jeje === pstolowski is now known as pstolowski|afk [18:32] What is your meetings about? [18:33] if you still have them? [18:46] Howdy Desktop team. I'm trying to export /var/lib from a liveCD (Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop) using NFS, but I get the message "exportfs: /var/lib does not support NFS export". This comes from the squashfs from the livecd... From my investigation, squashfs should be able to be NFS exported, unless -no-exports is used during mksquashfs. How can I tell if Ubuntu uses it during mksquashfs in its ISO? Any other pointers on [18:46] how to accomplish the NFS Export of that filesystem? [18:50] Hi fabiomirmar, this channel is mainly for Ubuntu developers to talk to each other. For support questions you would have more luck asking in #ubuntu [18:50] willcooke: ack. I'll give it a try. Thanks! [18:50] fabiomirmar, np, good luck! [18:52] hello mr willcooke [18:52] hi immu [18:53] meeting over? [18:53] immu: yeah a couple of hours ago i heard: http://ubottu.com/meetingology/logs/ubuntu-desktop/2019/ubuntu-desktop.2019-07-30-13.34.moin.txt [18:54] fabiomirmar: try strings -a | grep export or strings -a | grep mksquash or similar -- *maybe* it encodes the command line into the image itself? [18:56] what kernel version are they tracking for 19.10 willcooke [18:58] sarnold: thanks. I just used "unsquashfs -s filesystem.squashfs" and I can see "Filesystem is exportable via NFS" which makes me even more confusing as why I'm not able to export that [18:59] immu, 5.2 I think [19:11] any chance that 5.3 could be targetted? we still do have time before kernel freeze? [19:14] immu, #ubuntu-kernel is the right place to ask about that [19:14] sure mr willcooke
