[08:02] ahhhh [08:02] :) [08:02] today starts the truck drivers of dangerous substances strike [08:02] :) [08:03] so, Saturday it was a chaos at the supermarket with people trying to buy everything [08:03] fuel may end if the stikes makes impact [08:05] OK. On my area, there are no problems except one: You see a supercar driving fast until a driver saw people in front, and tries to do a brake. [08:10] ohhhh [08:11] my Dropbox says "syncing" [08:11] :) [08:11] maybe there is some issue [08:11] it has been on that status for a minute or so [08:35] Still not finished syncing? [08:37] no [08:37] the dropbox server may be having issues [08:37] but for years that it was working well [08:41] Is the client updated to latest version? [08:42] it updates all the time [08:42] because they are always releasing new versions [08:42] : o [08:46] Buaaaaaaaaaa [08:47] what was my error message? [08:47] here it appeared "disconnected" [08:47] but on the other server I was on [08:47] and the sync just finished [08:48] netsplit marcoagpinto [08:48] ahhhhhh [08:48] :) [08:48] thank you, lotuspsychje! [08:49] well, I only have cola for one more glass [08:49] then, I am out of cola [08:49] :( [08:49] the supermarket is under building so things changed place and I no longer know where the cola is [08:51] there was a refrigirator close to some checkouts with cold drinks, no there is none [08:52] no=now* [09:07] hi lotuspsychje and marcoagpinto [09:07] >:) [09:08] Buaaaaa... I was worried because for some 10 years that he hasn't replied to e-mails, so I sent him a letter [11:29] Hi folks [11:29] hi [11:39] wow, that's an old bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/313514 It sounds very interesting, but I haven't read enough to figure out exactly how this could even be fixed and be useful too. [11:39] Ubuntu bug 313514 in xorg-server (Ubuntu) "MASTER: evdev driver ignores keycodes > 255" [Wishlist,Invalid] [11:40] JimBuntu: daniel needs new info, as he probably saw too much discussion on it instead of real bug info [11:41] BluesKaj! Hello! [11:43] hi marcoagpinto [11:44] >:) === lotus|i5 is now known as lotuspsychje [15:22] bug #1839852 [15:22] bug 1839852 in linux-hwe (Ubuntu) "perf broken on hwe kernel 5.0.0-23" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1839852 [15:23] seems like we getting a big -23 bug collection [16:53] lotuspsychje, i posted yesterday> "I had to turn up the brightness and it stopped" ...? https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/comments/cojwj8/i_was_running_ubuntu_18042_on_lenovo_thinkpad/ [16:53] oh yeah sorry, didnt look yet holdon OerHeks [16:53] np [16:58] OerHeks: for my case, this happens on desktop first, when i able to logout, gdm also flickers [16:59] OerHeks: but i dont have flickering at plymouth yet [16:59] hey Peanut [17:00] Hey - just read the topic, this is probably also the wrong place ;-) [17:00] maybe volunteers have experiences with compiling here, feel free to discuss [17:00] everything ubuntu related here Peanut [17:00] Oh, I thought this was 'non-support' questions. [17:00] Anyway, here goes: [17:01] Hi folks - I've built the 'audacious' and 'audacious' plugins from source (apt source audacious, apply a small patch, dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -nc, sudo dpkg -i). This results in two packages: audacious, and audacious-plugins. Both with the same version number as the currently released. When I apt-update, it always wants to update audacious-plugins, and I don't understand why? [17:01] So compiling and building the package works fine, my question is why apt prefers the repository version for the one, but is happy with the local build for the other package. [17:21] Peanut: If you're building from source, you will need to uninstall the application from apt first. Apt does not track what you install, also, when you manually install things (unless you directed it otherwise) they usually go into /usr/local/ which apt does not monitor [17:22] otherwise, in your build configuration file, you would need to identify a unique version number that is higher than the version supplied by apt [17:52] pragmaticenigma: Thanks for your reply. This build didn't go into /usr/local/, because I used the Debian/Ubuntu tools to make a proper package. The thing that puzzles me is that the system is happy with the audacious package, but wants to replace the audacious-plugins package, despite each having the same version as in the repository.
