robert_ancellFourDollars, I'm still confused by https://code.launchpad.net/~fourdollars/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+git/systemd/+merge/370808 - nothing in that merge shows any changes to that revert patch, so either the revert hasn't been done or the changelog entry shouldn't be there.01:46
FourDollarsretoaded: Because it just removed the patch file under debian/patches/debian.01:52
FourDollarsretoaded: Oops. Sorry.01:52
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Because it just removed the patch file under debian/patches/debian.01:52
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: You may need to checkout lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic and lp:~fourdollars/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic to see what is going on.01:55
robert_ancellFourDollars, yeah, is LP showing the wrong thing? Because those changes aren't showing the diff there.01:55
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: LP doesn't show the wrong thing. It is because 237-3ubuntu10.25 is not in lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic but there is another commit of https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd/commit/?id=832a06123f7b060b67394fe270123d80c8d7e37b in the git repo.01:58
sarnoldis that a patch in debian/patches/ that's modifying another patch in debian/patches/ ?01:59
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: drop Revert-udev-network-device-renaming-immediately-give.patch has existed in  lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic but not released yet.01:59
FourDollarssarnold: No01:59
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: So you won't see it in my merge proposal.02:00
robert_ancellFourDollars, so it should still be in the history though. Perhaps we need to merge in the changes for 237-3ubuntu10.25 first to make this less confusing.02:03
robert_ancellIf that change has never been released, then why would there be a commit message saying it was removed later!?02:03
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Which commit are you talking about?02:05
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: 237-3ubuntu10.25 is not in lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic so I imported it manually in my merge proposal although it has been released.02:07
robert_ancellFourDollars, 2357ccb mentions Revert-udev-network-device-renaming-immediately-give.patch, which is not in the commit history and not added or removed in that change.02:07
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: It is a Debian package release commit so its content is from debian/changelog.02:09
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: "Releasing package systemd version 237-3ubuntu10.26".02:09
robert_ancellFourDollars, If I look at lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic the "Revert-udev-..." patch is not there, if I look in the uncommited changes in https://launchpadlibrarian.net/434785026/systemd_237-3ubuntu10.24_237-3ubuntu10.25.diff.gz it is not there, and it's not there in https://code.launchpad.net/~fourdollars/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+git/systemd/+merge/370808 that I can see.02:12
robert_ancellSo it seems the patch never existed, so there shouldn't be a changelog entry mentioning it being removed.02:13
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Not really. It existed before. It is because https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd/commit/?id=832a06123f7b060b67394fe270123d80c8d7e37b removed it so you won't see it in lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic.02:15
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: You need to check 237-3ubuntu10.24 and you will see it.02:16
robert_ancellFourDollars, I'm looking at 832a06123f7b060b67394fe270123d80c8d7e37b which is the ubuntu-bionic branch and it's not showing.02:18
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Checkout f81ac1953e6b2fa1c7b5d044d707646f480e2afa02:18
robert_ancellFourDollars, oh wait, now I see. So the change was in 237-3ubuntu10.24, just no-one updated the changelog?02:19
robert_ancellor was it released in 237-3ubuntu10.25?02:20
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: It is from Debian upstream.02:20
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Check 0650aebb9791da1bdeae1ca89b8eef70c631612d02:21
robert_ancellFourDollars, ok, I think I now understand - 237-3ubuntu10.25 was released with the patch in, but the git branch wasn't updated. 237-3ubuntu10.26 will remove it, but the merge proposal as shown is confusing as it shows it being removed before the 237-3ubuntu10.25 release.02:25
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: You probably need to check my merge proposal by gitk or something alike to see what is going on.02:25
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: LP can not show the diagram like gitk.02:26
robert_ancellFourDollars, super confusing. I can see it in gitk.02:31
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: haha02:31
robert_ancell:)02:31
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: I was also very confusing before.02:32
FourDollarsWhy 237-3ubuntu10.25 doesn't exist in lp:~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu/+source/systemd:ubuntu-bionic when it has been released. XD02:33
FourDollarsWhy there is another commit just after 237-3ubuntu10.24, but it is not included in 237-3ubuntu10.25.02:34
robert_ancellFourDollars, right, and that extra commit should have had an entry in the changelog set to UNRELEASED.02:34
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Yup02:36
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Would you push the package into the SRU queue?02:46
robert_ancellFourDollars, have you heard from xnox about it?02:47
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: No02:47
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: Heard what from xnox?02:48
robert_ancellFourDollars, just wondering if he was planning on reviewing, as he's listed as one.02:48
FourDollarsrobert_ancell: I just saw he mentioned https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1837700/comments/5 recently. Nothing else.02:51
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1837700 in OEM Priority Project "Dell system takes a long time to connect network with external dock" [Critical,In progress]02:51
robert_ancellFourDollars, uploaded.02:57
FourDollarsrobert_ancell++ Thx a lot.02:58
vorlonxnox: wasn't something fixed to prevent such broken packages? https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rust-regex/1.2.1-2/+build/1741864704:22
gQuigs(also pinged in internal/#security) - anyone around to confirm this possible nginx regression - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/184040405:06
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1840404 in nginx (Ubuntu) "[regression] 1.14.0-0ubuntu1.4 security update enables TLS1.3 without a choice" [Undecided,New]05:06
Locutusofborgmwhudson, we need a golang-1.12-race-detector-runtime package, or to remove that dependency07:35
Locutusofborgopinion?07:35
cpaelzerLocutusofborg: I ahve a fix for the ufw dep8 test fail that stopped iptables08:17
cpaelzerdo you want to be on the MP as reviewer?08:17
Locutusofborgthanks cpaelzer :) if it works, please upload!09:50
LocutusofborgI also think we should open a bug in Debian for all the Ubuntu delta...09:51
Laneybah, polkit-1 in proposed is now uninstallable since systemd got removed12:35
Laneyguess I could revert that particular change12:36
tewardthis will sound like a dumb question I should know the answer to, but is it possible to write autopkgtests that are Python driven?14:31
tewardso that I can write the autopkgtest for the given 'test' in a language I'm fluent in heh?14:31
mdeslaursure14:33
ograwe only allow spanish or esperanto python though14:41
mdeslaurwait, when did we drop french python?14:41
ograah, i forgot about that one ... indeed there is french pyton too but you have to wrap it in crépes14:42
Odd_Blokemdeslaur: The problem with French Python is that the scripts have to be 3 times bigger than the English Python equivalent if we're shipping packages to Quebec. ;)14:43
mdeslaurhehe14:45
vorlonUnit193: hi, at one point you had done an upload of assaultcube pulling from "Debian unreleased VCS", and there's been a new Debian upload by a new maintainer that doesn't seem to derive from that; do you have interest in reconciling this?14:58
ahasenackhi, the ufw test (http://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/running#pkg-ufw) has been running for 20h at least17:28
ahasenackalmost 21h actually17:28
ahasenackmaybe someone should kill it?17:28
ahasenacksame for iptables?17:28
Unit193vorlon: I've already looked into it, and it's most certainly weird to say the least.  The version that's in Debian now doesn't actually exist, the watchfile is pointed to his "mirror" on Gitlab where he's got a number of his own commits on top of upstream.  All in all I find it weird and think nothing is gained at this time by merging/sync'ing, but may as well for the next upstream or whatnot.18:40
Unit193It's not easy to track changes because he's got "import Debian changes for version 1.2.0.2" as the commit for everything...18:42
jdstrandcpaelzer: fyi, ufw did pass with 1.8 in the past (ie, on buster). is this a 1.8.*3* change?18:47
jdstrandcpaelzer: also, based on what ahasenack said, it sounds like the upload is causing autopkgtests to hang18:49
jdstrandcpaelzer: (the iptables upload)18:49
vorlonUnit193: ack18:53
