[00:07] @n-iCe is there anything we can help you with? === lubuntu is now known as Guest75643 === Guest75643 is now known as flo-gr [15:12] ola [15:21] hi [15:22] renan: akk: How can we help you? [15:23] I'm a longtime openbox user; just installed a new lubuntu, was playing with lxqt but for my regular user, I'd like to use plain openbox [15:24] but when I chose Openbox as the Session in the login screen, it logs me in and runs the terminal that's in my autostart, but it's still showing the login screen [15:24] and if I move the terminal, it doesn't redraw behind it properly on the root window. [15:25] Trying to figure out what's going on and if I need something special in my autostart to use openbox from sddm. [15:27] yes, taht's the bahaivour of openbox [15:28] Actually where trying to disable to enter in an openbox x session, but we couldn't [15:29] if you find out something, it will be good to know. [15:29] So openbox from sddm basically doesn't work, and I should ditch sddm if I want to use openbox? [15:29] basically, we don't know [15:30] Okay, thanks. [15:30] let us know if you find out something. [15:32] akk: I just remembered that we don't install all recommends from openbox [15:33] maybe you could try installing them, but at your own risk [15:33] I did a systemctl disable sddm, rebooted, and now I can log in to the console, start X and openbox seems to be working fine. [15:33] I don't really need a graphical login manager [15:34] good to know. [15:34] though I will eventually want to figure out how to start lxqt for the other user I made on the system. [15:35] Probably just a .xinitrc that calls lxqt, or something. [15:35] or tweaking sddm [15:35] or killing it after login to openbox. [15:36] we haven't experiment on it. [15:36] That could work. But this way seems easier. [15:41] I accidently hid the menu of qterminal. [15:41] how do I get it back? [15:45] alt+v ?? [15:47] ctr+shift+m according to the manual https://manual.lubuntu.me/3/3.1/3.1.3/qterminal.html [15:50] Hi [15:51] Bye [15:51] @HMollerCl thanks! Ctrl+shift+m worked. [15:52] alt+v doesn't [15:52] @The_LoudSpeaker [ @HMollerCl thanks! Ctrl+shift+m worked.], the manual is awesome, thanks to @lynorian [15:53] @lynorian, gawd _/\_ [22:26] Mano, é serio que NINGUEM usa IRC [23:13] how to install skype lubuntu 18,4? [23:14] mystic: go to skype's website [23:17] i see [23:17] @mystic Did you look on your package manager [23:17] yea.. not there. [23:18] not skype, nope [23:18] Install the snap [23:18] Did you look to see if they have it available for Ubuntu? Even nowadays you could look for a snap [23:18] * tsimonq2 waits for gasps [23:18] they have a snap? [23:18] Yes [23:18] Officially by Skype [23:18] oh well there you go [23:18] that's probably what's on the website, eh? [23:19] also lubuntu running slow from my usb.not usually this slow. maybe needs updating [23:19] they offer debs and snaps, actually [23:20] if i remember correctly the deb installs a repo [23:20] anyways, re: slow, to be expected with usb [23:20] not this slow usuaally.. hanging bad [23:20] fresh install.. no idea why [23:20] what exactly is hanging? [23:21] anything i try to do.. open hex chat.. type in it.. search package manageer etc.... have to sometimes just kill the process and start again [23:22] not like this when i used it before [23:22] but is it cpu, memory, what? [23:22] no idea [23:23] well you could use the task manager to figure that out... [23:23] how [23:23] new to linux? [23:23] cpu 1 % [23:23] 908mb of 7581 used [23:27] and skype wont work [23:27] frozen [23:27] sounds like you got a broken system [23:27] so let's back allll the way up [23:27] how did you install this? [23:27] but it was really hard t oinstall on usb [23:27] with rufus [23:28] oh boy [23:28] messed up my entire laptop os when i did it first time.. had to reinstall everything [23:28] you only had windows to work with,e h? [23:28] i cna only work with windows.. tried ubuntu.. couldt even write it to usb [23:28] ok where did you get the lubuntu iso? [23:28] lubuntu website [23:28] which one? [23:29] https://lubuntu.me/downloads/ [23:29] that's good [23:29] did you check the hashes of the iso? [23:29] no [23:29] sounds complicated [23:29] that might be your problem right there [23:30] i never have to do thath other stuff i use [23:30] 1 single bit of difference can lead to all sorts of problems [23:30] no, you've gotten lucky [23:30] you should ALWAYS do that [23:30] well this os is no good like this thats for sure [23:30] never mind.. i will try again some other timee [23:30] if you don't want to do it, fine, but if we can't verify the install, it's really hard to help you [23:31] ok bye [23:31] no problem [23:31] bye
