[00:12] ola [09:28] hello. Problem with taskbar. I have not one but two network manager icons and not one but four dropbox icons [09:31] I mean system tray [09:35] solved by disabling and re-enabling indicator applets === lubuntu is now known as Guest53935 [12:08] OK Simon told me to wait for @wxl[m] to come online but gonna type out my problem now. 2 different models of laptops 3 different machines. After installing latest version of lubuntu the laptop won't boot. It is as if grub didn't get installed. I know i can manually install grub but want to know what info to pull that might help. I have the iso on a usb stick I created with Multisystem. Don't think that matters but thought I would put that info out [12:08] there. Laptops installed on are Lenovo L430 and HP Elitebook 8560p. FWIW Peppermint and Ubuntu Mate latest versions install and boot just fine. === gp is now known as Guest6821 [12:41] wxl @kc2bez ^ [12:43] Naelr: which version did you install? Also, can you pastebin your install log? [12:44] I downloaded latest... I just found something on an endeavour install I tried out on same machine.. it did the same thing.. sure where do I get my install log ... /var/log/install? [12:45] by latest do you mean 19.04 or 19.10? [12:46] the debug log in /var/log/installer will work [12:51] disco dingo ... latest stable ... the installer didn't set boot flag on the boot partition [12:51] 19.04 I think .. is that disco dingo [12:51] Yes, 19.04 is disco dingo. [12:52] I think there is an upstream bug for the boot flag thing. Let me dig it up. [12:52] I checked and set boot flag and computer booted up just fine [12:55] Here is the upstream bug report https://github.com/calamares/calamares/issues/1175 [12:56] That sounds like the issue you ran into. [12:58] funny that endevour linux did the same thing.. yea that is exactly what happened... but on a lenovo l430... weird [12:59] all I did was set boot flag on partition and rebooted [13:15] endevour uses the calamares installer too so I would expect the same result. Glad you got it working. [13:28] thanks so it is 100% a calamares issue.. I guess that makes sense... yup worked the same on both machines... have a good one [15:46] test === gp is now known as Guest83859 === root is now known as Guest12088
