[00:14] AppAraat: I use studio for everything [00:15] Games, Dev work, audio stuff. You name it. [00:15] It runs my Plex server as well as a bunch of other things [00:16] Also, good luck with audio and KVM. I gave up on that. Never could get KVM and PA to play nice together. [00:24] To the point that when I was playing games on a Windows VM with a passed through video card I was using Jack on the windows machine to send audio over the network to the host [00:57] Good evening everybody, I use ubuntu studio for almost 3 years now. I am a musician and songwriter. Wonder if anyone has problems with calf freezing ardour when is putted on the mix? [10:54] wonko: heh, that's actually a pretty cool hack :p [10:54] yeah I think I'm just going to test out i3wm on the VM and if that works, then just install it on a real system and see how that goes. [12:16] I can't seem to figure out how to get the Pulseaudio sink/source installed into Carla 2.0, anyone done that? I've seen screenshots with it running but I can't find it in the plugins. [13:13] They aren't a part of Carla, they are Jack objects so they should just show up. [13:14] I think [13:14] There may be a bridge involved [13:14] I'm not at my computer to check [14:24] k [14:48] hi [18:28] hi guys! i just started ubuntu studio 64 bit 18.04 live and it says jack is not working. is this a known issue? how can i fix it? [18:49] adam21: did you try starting jack from qjackctl? [20:07] wonko: in the install of udev-rtirq the rules file is installed in the wrong place. That may be why it works manually and not automatically [20:10] The rules file may be in /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/ but should be in /lib/udev/rules.d/ [20:37] Doesn't make a difference. In 19.04 /lib is a symlink to /use/lib [20:38] usr [20:38] Ah, not in 18.04 [20:40] Yeah they finally did away with they nonsense [20:40] That [20:40] Freaking autocorrect [20:47] I found sometimes it works for the some of my PCI audio devices and sometimes not. If my USB device is plugged in during boot... the boot fails [20:48] It does work for my usb device if I plug it in after boot.
