[09:12] Raspberry Pi images will be provided for focal? [12:11] Question, I didn't see in calamares the "Download updates while installing.." and "Install third-party software...." It's just me or they don't exist? How are this options handled? [12:30] It doesn't currently exist. We have a task to handle the third party software bit https://phab.lubuntu.me/T68 [12:30] -lugito:#lubuntu-devel- [Unbreak Now!, Open] provide a solution for installing third-party/proprietary drivers: https://phab.lubuntu.me/T68 [12:32] @kc2bez [ It doesn't currently exist. We have a task to handle the third party so …], oo, I thought that was for driver only. And the updates? Are they donwloaded? [12:34] No updates are not downloaded. I am not sure if that has been discussed in the past or not. [12:35] The license module is needed for both the dirvers and software so they go together. [12:37] I think it's not critical because it can be installed easily after, but it might be a good and easy thing to add. [12:38] In ubiquity the download updates thing only downloads them, you still have to install them after first boot but maybe it is something that could be added. [19:28] has anyone proposed including the option to include `open-vm-tools{,-desktop}` during installation if you're in a VMware environment, like the server and Ubuntu Desktop installers do? [19:28] just a thought ;) [19:28] 'cause... it still doesn't come with 😜 [19:40] @The_LoudSpeaker re: pi that depends upon https://ubuntu-pi-flavour-maker.org/ but given we don't have any for 18, prolly not. [19:42] maybe having it documented in the release notes until we fix it would be good (third-party stuff) [19:45] @teward001 what are the other flavors doing? [19:45] not sure [19:46] haven't dug too much, the only headache I hate is being stuck with a 640x480 screen when you use Lubuntu on any VMware env. [19:46] until i drop to a TTY and forcibly install it [19:46] got to install on the Live env too just to be able to use the installer too [19:46] huh
