DirtyEarHi. I have a Behringer XR18 and it comes with a "control surface" for Linux. I used to worked on ubuntu 16 and it runs. But now I have ubuntustudio 19.10 I cannot connect my mixer to my PC. The "plugin" opens but never connect to my mixer. Any idea of how to solve it?15:52
OvenWerksDirtyEar: Is the network connection wired or wireless?16:05
DirtyEarOvenWerks: Thanks. The network is wired.16:05
OvenWerkshave you reset the ip of the xr?16:07
OvenWerks hmm that came out wrong16:07
DirtyEarI have the wired connected in my modem, and my pc too. I just doble click on the application and it opens. Sometimes the application ddi not coneected but I can connected in the application, but kow the aplication just open and say that is not connected16:07
OvenWerks have you set up the ip in the control app to make sure it still points at the xr16:08
DirtyEarOvenWerks: I have never moved or put things like IP or something in the application16:08
OvenWerksI am of course just guessing. I don't have an xr myself.16:09
DirtyEarI have been working with my celphone but is more easy to work on my PC16:09
DirtyEarOvenWerks: Thanks!!16:10
DirtyEarI supossed is a library or something I need but I have been looking for and I did not have anything16:11
DirtyEarOvenWerks: What do you think about this article? https://behringerwiki.musictribe.com/index.php?title=X-Air_Edit_with_Ubuntu_64_bit16:14
OvenWerksDirtyEar: is this the x air series?16:15
OvenWerks(using X-Air-Edit?16:16
DirtyEarOvenWerks: Yes it is. I have an XR18 X-Air16:16
DirtyEarI have been trying to open X-AIR-Edit but it does not connected with my XR1816:17
OvenWerksunder setup LAN do you have DHCP selected?16:17
DirtyEarBut tue article is about Ubuntu 14. Do you think it could works?16:17
OvenWerksI think it could work yes. when I start X-Air-Edit from the command line it does put that error out: ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk3-nocsd.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64): ignored.16:18
OvenWerksobviuosly not all of the list libs are at fault, but it only takes one.16:19
DirtyEarThanks. I will try16:20
OvenWerksI don't know if you need to do the sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 thing or not...16:21
DirtyEarOvenWerks: When I doble clicked on the applicatios, it opens but does not let me to enter to any menu option16:28
OvenWerksHmm mine does...even without installing the 32 bit libs16:30
DirtyEarI have been try the line I get this message https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/hkyJwQGq9X/16:31
OvenWerksI can change lan mode from static to dhcp anyway. But I don't have the x air to hook up to.16:31
DirtyEarAny Idea if this necesary to run the X-AIR-Edit?16:32
OvenWerksright so you need to do the sudo dpkg --add-architecture i38616:32
OvenWerksand then sudo apt-get update16:32
DirtyEarOvenWerks: At least you can enter to options, but I can not16:32
OvenWerksand then try again.16:33
OvenWerksI may have some 32 bit packages installed for other reasons that I don't remember16:34
DirtyEarOvenWerks: I got these: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/tmyyyxJXmv/16:35
DirtyEarDo you think could be some 32 package I do not have installed?16:36
OvenWerksIt could be ubuntu has dropped some package you need. I am not sure though16:38
OvenWerksI am still on 18.04 here.16:38
DirtyEarOk. Thanks for your time. :]16:39
OvenWerksIf you are missing depends and you can get the packages but not the depends then the package missing some depends should have a bug report.16:40
DirtyEarWhen I try to open the X-AIR-Edit I got this: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/VCx7RxjQYn/    any ideas of how can I fixed?16:48
OvenWerksThat looks fine.16:50
OvenWerksyou must have a newer version of X-Air_edit than I do.16:51
OvenWerksWhat I don't know is why the menu doesn't work...16:51
DirtyEarOvenWerks: I cannot enter to menu and look for the mixer and connected. I have been looking for this more than one week but nothing16:53
EickmeyerZero issues with the 64-bit version of X-Air edit here.16:56
Eickmeyer19.10.16:56
Huber64hello everyone16:56
EickmeyerOvenWerks, DirtyEar: Really, this seems to be a support issue for Behringer since X-Air Edit isn't something we can or should support.16:58
OvenWerksOf course :)16:59
DirtyEarEickmeyer: Thanks.16:59
OvenWerksIt was just that at first it looked like it may have been a lib issue... but it's not, there are no startup erros.17:00
DirtyEarBut It opens and I have another pc and I can open the applicaion and enter to menu.17:00
DirtyEarWhat could be wrong?17:00
EickmeyerDirtyEar: I hate to say it, but that's not our problem. You need to contact Behringer. We do not support that application, nor do we have time to.17:01
EickmeyerDirtyEar: If OvenWerks and myself have no issues opening the same application, then it's not an issue with Ubuntu Studio. Might be a configuration issue on your end.17:01
DirtyEarEickmeyer: Ok. Thanks17:02
EickmeyerDirtyEar: We just have to draw the line on applications we include and support. I hope you understand. XAir isn't supported here.17:02
DirtyEarEickmeyer: I understand. Thanks for always helping me and I know you do all you can. Do not worry. I will aks them and see what happen.17:03
tomreynlooks like DirtyEar mixed up #ubuntu with behringer support17:28
tomreynnot sure you discussed this, but there's "X AIR Edit (Linux)" and "X AIR Edit (Linux 64Bit)" at https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Mixers/Digital/XR18/p/P0BI8/Downloads17:28
Eickmeyertomreyn: I mentioned it.17:31
tomreynah alright17:31
tomreynhttps://sites.google.com/site/xairutilities/ seems also related, and comes with source code17:32
DirtyEarHi. Me again. I just wonder if may be something with the LAN on my UbuntuStudio 19.10 that I need to configure in order to open the X-AIR-Edit, because I have a Sony VAIO with Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS and I cipy the folder with the application to a USB and paste on the desktop of my sony VAIO and the applications was coneected to X-AIR-Edit17:35
EickmeyerDirtyEar: To answer your question, there should be nothing. For me it just worked.17:40
DirtyEarEickmeyer: Ok. Thanks for answer.17:44
DirtyEarHi. I am thinking in re-install UbuntuStudio 19.10 because I have seen some errors and I see X-AIR-Edit works fine for you.18:13
DirtyEarI have a PC with a disk with 500 GB (250 for Windows 10 and 250 for Ubuntu) and a secundary disk with 1TB. What do you recommend in order to re-install UbuntuStudio in the best way without damage W10?18:14
OvenWerkswhy not just run ubuntustudio live from the iso on a USB stick?18:18
OvenWerksIf it works there then problem solved, reinstall... if not then maybe a HW difficulty?18:19
DirtyEarOvenWerks: Thanks for the advice. I really apreciatte the help I have in this forum18:20
DirtyEarI will try from the USB and see what happens. But I wonder If is something about the hardware, what thing could be wrong?18:21
EickmeyerDirtyEar: It just might come down to the harsh truth that not all hardware is guaranteed to work with or is compatible with Linux.18:39
DirtyEarEickmeyer: What part of the hardware could be un-compatible?18:41
EickmeyerDirtyEar: Sometimes there's no way to know.18:41
DirtyEarI will try with the USB and I will be back18:44
DirtyEari. I am just running UbuntuStudio 19.10 from USB, but the X-AIR-Edit does not work. I have a Music Studio and I have been work for some time with Ubuntu and I need to solve this19:33
DirtyEarBut I think as Eickmeyer say, is a compatibility issue19:34
EickmeyerDirtyEar: As stated before, we cannot support anything outside of the Ubuntu repositories, including X-Air Edit.19:34
DirtyEarI now. I just want to share what I got. Thanks19:35
EickmeyerDirtyEar: Thanks for the info.19:35
DirtyEarEickmeyer: Thanks for your help!19:35
