[06:54] good morning [06:59] Hi didrocks [07:03] hey duflu [08:00] good morning tout le monde [08:00] salut jibel :) [08:01] Hi jibel [08:26] goood morning desktopers, happy friday! [08:27] hey seb128, happy friday [08:28] lut didrocks, to you too! how are you? [08:28] morning didrocks duflu jibel seb128 [08:28] how was the fest evening in Lyon? [08:28] hey marcustomlinson, how are you today? [08:29] not too shabby. you seb128? [08:30] seb128: fine, headed deep in tests again [08:30] cooold, but good otherwise, I'm stopping for coffee on my way to go coworking today [08:30] hey marcustomlinson [08:41] didrocks, http://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/d/docker-libkv/focal/amd64 the retry with the new etcd worked [08:45] Morning seb128 and marcustomlinson [08:47] hey duflu, happy friday! how are you? [08:48] seb128, almost over the jetlag and within a couple of days of catching up on email. So mostly positive. You? [08:51] the proposed migration pages as big enough to make firefox unhappy at times :-/ [08:58] seb128: nice! [09:52] Morning desktoppers o/ [10:15] Hi Wimpress [10:20] Hi duflu. How's it going? [10:21] Wimpress, I'm exhausted. Almost caught up on the 300 bugs from November now. But it's also Friday night so almost good night... [10:21] How are you Wimpress? [10:23] Oh well, hope it's a good one [10:23] * duflu goes to sleep for most of the weekend [10:23] duflu, enjoy! [10:24] Nice! 300 bugs :-D [10:34] Good morning [10:34] who owns the libreoffice snap? I noticed 6.3.3 is out upstream. [10:36] popey: me [10:36] oh, ignore me, i need to clean my glasses :D [10:36] haha [10:36] I really mis-read the number on the screen. [10:36] sooooo, any chance we can get a pretty banner uploaded for that snap marcustomlinson ? [10:38] you mean make one myself? [10:38] Well, that's certainly an option. [10:38] Does the upstream project maybe have banners for other stores [10:43] can't find anything official [10:59] popey: alright I put a simple one up [11:00] bingo, htanks [11:00] -thanks [15:51] good morning desktopers! [15:51] good morning hellsworth [15:51] morning hellsworth [15:52] hi yall and happy friday [15:52] marcustomlinson: kenvandine also i got a little stuck yesterday and wonder if you two can point me in the right direction.. [15:53] gedit builds with gnome-3-34 but won't run because it can't find /snap/gedit/x1/gnome-platform/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3-0/gtk-query-immodules-3.0 [15:53] evince (built with gnoem-3-34) has this in /gnome-platform/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3-0/gtk-query-immodules-3.0 [15:53] so why the heck would gnome-platform not have this in gedit? [15:54] is gnome-platform in gedit empty? [15:54] actual gedit error when running it: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/Bp9cvYxzsw/ [15:55] no it has a webkit dir but thats all [15:55] you need to connect the gnome-3-34-1804 interface [15:55] the webkit dir is there for the layout [15:55] this is my gedit yaml: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/wMYCddFKFm/ [15:55] omg the manual connection!!!!! [15:55] :) [15:56] so another thing i want to point out is the build-environment of gtksourceview in that yaml file [15:56] gtksourceview doesn't like some of the build-environment variables set by the extension so i guessd and just cleared them [15:57] interesting [15:57] it's a bit annoying if folks want to snap their thing with gnome-3-34 and then have to fiddle around with what build-environment vars need to be cleared like this [15:57] yeah [15:57] if any one of those are commented out, gedit won't build [15:59] so if i connect to the gnome-3-34-1804 interface, it fails with a different error: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/CmgzJ3Y3fW/ [15:59] those permission denied bits are weird. idk why it would be trying to reach outside the /snap dir [15:59] i needs write access to those dirs [15:59] but it should have that [16:01] hellsworth: why are you building gtksourceview again? [16:01] it's in the sdk snap no? [16:01] oh shoot i think you're right.. lemme look [16:01] that's probably left over from before we had newer gtksourceview [16:02] would this help? https://git.launchpad.net/~marcustomlinson/gedit/+git/master/tree/snap/snapcraft.yaml [16:02] yep it is [16:03] marcustomlinson: it can't hurt to use as a reference at least so thanks :) [16:03] it's before the time of extensions of course [16:04] ok i'll remove the gtksourceview part and rebuild to see if that gets me any farther [16:04] hellsworth: if you look at my yaml you don't need anything but gedit and the plugins parts [16:04] I didn't at least :P [16:04] so i wonder why amtk was there at all [16:05] amtk is not in the build snap [16:08] you need amtk [16:08] relatively new build depends [16:08] and tepl [16:08] ah ok i'll put those back then and leave gtksourceview out [16:08] :) [18:31] cheers everyone, have a good weekend [18:35] cheers you too! [19:20] who is the WSL person? [19:21] my husband just started using it so i asked for feedback [19:21] apparently any new directory is being made with 777 perms instead of 755 [19:23] nvm there's a github issue on it: https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/issues/352 [19:23] microsoft issue 352 in WSL "Default umask (permissions) is not applied" [Feature, Fixedininsiderbuilds, Open]
