[16:02] Does the Google drive integration in Kubuntu 18.04 not work? [16:04] @RikMills [16:12] @Linuxophil, What is the error? [16:14] I think that it maybe that it doesn't automatically add an entry for Google Drive in Dolphin. [16:18] i lost my root , admistrator , pw how i do [16:18] Ok. Looks like Google have killed off access to gdrive for kio-gdrive [16:18] (Photo, 534x491) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/ZNH71WDm/file_21155.jpg [16:19] Yes, I had the same error yesterday [16:19] @RikMills, exactly! [16:19] They have been doing this with some other things, so not surprised really [16:19] How to fix this? Btw in Ubuntu it's still working [16:19] Google need to re-enable the app [16:20] KDE developer for kio-gdrive needs to sort this [16:20] I see. [16:21] If it is still working in Ubuntu, could I install Nautilus for my friend and it might work? [16:21] ...on his Kubuntu 18.04 [16:21] Possibly. [16:21] I will try and report back. [16:25] Would have to add the URL manually... [16:31] No, it does not work... 😞 [16:32] Same error? [16:34] I confirm that on "file" of ubuntu it works [16:34] I have my google accounts connected with ubuntu and I am able to access gdrive via "files" [16:34] Even if I have also kubuntu installed and right now opening files from kubuntu [16:36] @Franzpow, That is phantasic news, but I cannot reporoduce it. On Kubuntu, where do you enter the Google credentials? In the normal "Online accounts" section of the system settings, it does not work. [16:37] The fact is that I connected Ubuntu with google.. Not kubuntu. Maybe that is the reason of the fact that on my system it is still working [16:37] I have "Nautilus" installed on Kubuntu 18.04. Which would be identical to "files", AFAIK. [16:38] Maybe you should install also ubuntu on the same system and connect it to google in the settings to reproduce what I have on my system [16:38] After that use normally kubuntu but launch files instead of dolphin [16:39] @Franzpow, Maybe... Dammit. So close. With gdrive it would have been the perfect machine! [16:39] @Franzpow, you mean like a dual boot? [16:39] @Franzpow, He had Ubuntu before, but he hated it with a passion. 😉 [16:40] Nope. I have installed kubuntu and ubuntu on the same machine and in the login screen you can select what system you want to boot [16:41] If it's not a problem you can install ubuntu all over again and … Use the terminal to install kde on the top of ubuntu [16:41] So you should have ubuntu system but with all kubntu apps [16:42] In this way, if you configure first ubuntu accounts, you will have the ability to access to gdrive via files AND you are not forced to use ubuntu. You can use kde instead of gnome as your DE [16:44] @RikMills am I right? [16:46] Depends if the different authentication route is still valid. It might be, or you might just be using a cached one that works, but which might stop later. [16:47] Oh yes. You are right. You might want to verify it on a fresh ubuntu installation [16:47] Does Gdrive for Linux exist? [16:51] google drive is under standard accounts? [17:19] hey, anyone online? [17:20] I was having trouble with kio-gdrive (just installing it) for a while now (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414219). Maybe Google is closing the door to what it considers insecure access. [17:20] KDE bug 414219 in KCM "Google Drive access not working" [Normal,Confirmed] [17:33] mparillo: also https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415089 [17:33] KDE bug 415089 in general "Dolphin Kio-gdrive authentication with Google account fails" [Normal,Confirmed] [17:38] Thanks I updated both tickets to point to the other. Perhaps it will help. [17:41] I added a link to a stackoverflow article that might help [17:59] You know it's funny...when I first abandoned dropbox in favor of kio-gdrive, I thought I would miss the automatic synchronization. But, I like the manual control, and am not really eager to switch back. [19:27] hi all, need help with mobile broadband , its not showing in network manager... [19:28] Sudosu1 was added by: Sudosu1 [19:38] somebody know how to fix this problem with mobile broadband? [19:45] :( [20:24] https://linuxactionnews.com/137 :) [20:30] @Luna_, What that means? [20:30] Is an integrated cloud service of ubuntu? [20:31] Franzpow its a podcast, they talk some about the new Kubuntu laptop: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Kubuntu-Laptop-Coming and KDE [20:32] Ah, I have read the news in the preview about the mini-cloud [20:33] And I thought you sent it because of the earlier discussion about gdrive in kubuntu not working.
