vlt | Hello. I'm using mpv and libavfilter(?) via "--vf perspective=..." to playback videos and specify (and manipulate in realtime) the coordinates of the four corners. This takes a lot of CPU power. Is there a way to push this further down the chain by somehow using 3D video hardware stuff? Where can I find out more? | 11:56 |

studiobot | <mandyy505> Hi, I Googled "ubuntu help telegram group" and found this group, that's it? I can ask here for help when I have trouble with ubuntu? | 13:28 |
tomreyn | mandyy505: with "ubuntu studio" specifically, which is a recognized ubuntu flavor. | 13:35 |
tomreyn | for general ubuntu support, i don't thnk you'll find an official telegram group, but you could use IRC. | 13:36 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> What is IRC? | 13:38 |
studiobot | <designbybeck> @mandyy505 Internet Relay Chat. One of the oldest forms of communications on the Internet. Used as a Chatroom | 16:02 |
studiobot | <designbybeck> @mandyy505 you can try Kiwiirc.com for a web browser based IRC client to join Ubuntu IRC as mentioned above if that helps | 16:03 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> Ok, thanks | 16:47 |

tomreyn | mandyy505: use the "Custom server" dropp down and look for "freenode". | 17:00 |
tomreyn | once connected, you'd want to join the "#ubuntu" channel. another option is to use https://webchat.freenode.net (i know *this* one works, i'm not sure the kiwi one works) | 17:01 |
tomreyn | or actually, since you seem to be running ubuntu already, you should just install "hexchat" there and use it to connect to network "Freenode", channel "#ubuntu" | 17:03 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> @tomreyn [<tomreyn> mandyy505: use the "Custom server" dropp down and look for "freenode".], What's the password? | 17:21 |
tomreyn | mandyy505: none needed | 17:23 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> Ok | 17:23 |
tomreyn | but edit the nickname to something of your choice | 17:24 |
tomreyn | and something unique, too, not a common name | 17:24 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> Why? | 17:24 |
tomreyn | because its a global namespace, nicknames can be registered, are unique, and others may already have taken yours. | 17:25 |
tomreyn | which would then cause you to get forefully renamed | 17:25 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> Ok | 17:26 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> What's the purpose of this group? | 17:26 |
tomreyn | ubuntu support, at leas ton the #ubuntu channel | 17:26 |
tomreyn | the purpose of the network should be presented in a longer text when you connect | 17:26 |
tomreyn | to enter the ubuntu channel just tyoe: /join #ubuntu | 17:27 |
tomreyn | *type | 17:27 |
tomreyn | (where it says "Send a message...") | 17:27 |
studiobot | <mandyy505> Ok | 17:28 |
tomreyn | hmm, i guess this won't work, though, you'll be forwarded to #ubuntu-unregged, need to register your nickname first. just follow the instructions given there... | 17:28 |
Eickmeyer | tomreyn: @mandyy505 is typing via Telegram, which is an instant messenger. Studiobot is a Telegram-IRC bridge. | 19:15 |
tomreyn | Eickmeyer: i'm aware, thanks | 19:22 |
tomreyn | my understanding is that mandyy505 is looknig for a generic ubuntu support channel (telegram protocol preferred but not required), not for an ubuntustudio support channel. | 19:24 |
Eickmeyer | tomreyn: That's what I gather as well. | 19:30 |
tomreyn | ok :) | 19:34 |
