=== ben_r_ is now known as ben_r [09:40] Hello -- is the mainline-crack git repository at git://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel-test/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/mainline-crack supposed to be updated with vanilla? it appears out of date.. [09:45] midnight, that repository gets tags pushed which are consumed by our testing kit [09:45] midnight, mostly those are pushed as tags, so if master is out of date i would not be supprised [09:46] midnight, tracking that repo is probabally not snesible [09:48] apw: I was perusing here: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D, and then popping into (in this case) v5.4.11, as in the past this was the easiest way for me to track mainline for my Talos (mainline had some critical patches I needed), but it appears the vanilla mirror stopped being updated (like, missing commitids) as of v5.4-rc8 [09:49] I'm completely fine just getting it from vanilla, but since I'd been tracking it regularly up to recently, just thought I'd double-check that something wasn't broken. No big deal either way, I'm completely fine just grabbing the patchset and getting vanilla elsewhere. [09:49] at the very least, the instructions in the build results page are no longer functional as a result :) [09:51] midnight, oh, point me to one that is definatly broken [09:51] midnight, as the instructions should work [09:51] midnight, as in theory that is how the internal stuff gets the same thing you are trying to [09:51] https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.4.11/ <-- go here, try to git clone from that repo, and checkout v5.4.11 [09:52] The patchset is downloadable though, so it's just a minor speedbump. [09:53] or.. I guess just observe that commitid 9d61432efb21c224b710f397809f3a4fef281f9c isn't present in that git repo. [10:17] does ubuntu include silk guardian? [10:17] midnight, ok i know the cause; a section of our mirroring has failed [10:17] midnight, so i'll try and work out why that has occurred [10:20] https://github.com/NateBrune/silk-guardian [10:21] _ruben, are you still using virgin mobile [10:46] silk guardian? [10:52] vadre, not as far as i know [10:54] apw, did you check? [11:01] vadre, i have never heard of it, and i have maintained our kernel for a very long time [11:03] and it does not appear to be a dkms module either [11:04] so when running an init script which produces console text output does something need to be added to pipe it into null or can it be let run without breaking anything like the tty session [11:06] I haven't noticed any spyware yet this ubuntu lts seems clean. [11:07] Mouse jumps can happen when vnc connects. [11:07] or what is it with ubuntu remmina [11:08] starlight, starbright [11:21] so long as you are perfect apw it is "our" all the way [11:25] * apw notes for the record he is far from perfect [11:25] as a member of the ubuntu community i am comfortable calling our kernel "our" [11:26] the web of trust? [11:26] apw, far from perfect may be the perfect answer humbly so [11:27] apw, do you know why I need the usbkill? [11:28] vadre, nope [11:28] a chat with myself may lead to new skills for far from perfect [11:28] apw, do you visit other irc networks? [11:32] some [12:25] apw, poxified [12:42] snags the usb bus [16:09] apw: acknowledged. thank you. \o
