mwhudsonoSoMoN: hi06:54
mwhudsonoSoMoN: feels like it must be time for a rustc update soon....06:54
oSoMoNmwhudson, indeed, but mozilla haven't bumped the build dep for beta yet06:55
oSoMoNI guess if you start on the update now it won't hurt, if you feel like it06:55

MirvGood morning.. I asked on #ubuntu-devel earlier this week and didn't get a reply, but I'd like to once more raise eyebrow aloud (..) about the fact that the 'current' daily-live desktop image is one month old now, 20200124. I'd mostly want to know it's on the radar and a bit curious about what's causing it for so many weeks.07:48
MirvI've installed from newer daily-live successfully.07:49
dufluMirv: Not sure, but I was wondering. jibel will know07:50
dufluAlso good morning07:50
jibelHi Mirv, smoke tests have been broken since the removal of python2. I'll promote latest build manually07:53
Mirvjibel: thank you, I think that makes sense!07:57
Mirvand good afternoon duflu07:57
jibelMirv, done, 20200220 is in current07:58
duflu❤️ jibel08:02
Mirvjibel: confirming, thank you!08:03
duflu20200220 isn't a confusing date at all08:03
ricotzhey desktoppers :)08:06
ricotzoSoMoN, mwhudson, hi, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161500308:06

dufluMorning marcustomlinson and Laney09:08
Laneysalut duflu09:10
Laneysalutflu09:11
oSoMoNgood morning ricotz! that's a timely one, considering mwhudson was asking about it just before you joined :)09:12
oSoMoNI'll file the usual bug to track it in ubuntu09:12
oSoMoNsup Laney, marcustomlinson09:12
marcustomlinsonI've just officially sponsored my first upload :)09:22
oSoMoNricotz, mwhudson: bug #186417409:25
ubot5bug 1864174 in rustc (Ubuntu) "rustc 1.41 and cargo 0.42 required by firefox 75" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/186417409:25
oSoMoNmarcustomlinson, congrats!09:25
Laneymoin oSoMoN marcustomlinson09:27
oSoMoNmpt, can I have your opinion on https://code.launchpad.net/~osomon/software-properties/+git/software-properties/+merge/379345 ?09:39
oSoMoNIn short: if a user hand-edited their sources.list and left it in a inconsistent state (where e.g. they disabled main for the release pocket), software-properties doesn't do a good job of fixing this, and the updates subscriptions combobox will select the "Custom" entry but won't let the user actually change it to something else. Is this really a use-case we want to handle? I was thinking maybe we could just make the combobox insensitive in such ca09:39
oSoMoNses.09:39
WimpressMorning o/10:21
tkamppeterAny core-dev around? robert_ancell has uploaded my SANE update for me (bug 1862926) but it FTBFS, I have found the problem and added a fix to the bug, also as debdiff. Can someone upload for me? It is only some missing Build-Depends: in debian/control.10:37
ubot5bug 1862926 in sane-backends (Ubuntu) "Request for update: SANE 1.0.29" [High,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/186292610:37
oSoMoNmorning Wimpress10:49
ricotzoSoMoN, great, thanks10:53
Laneytseliot: hey, any chance you can push ubuntu-drivers 0.7.8.1 please?11:13
LaneyI just rebased my branch and it still ended up with a lower version than focal /o\11:13
Laneybtw, going to be proposing that soon, probably early next week11:13
* Laney is just trying to bend ubiquity into not removing the oem-*-meta packages11:20
Laneywould be good if you could install multiple times from the same live session11:23
* Laney wonders if didrocks or jibel have any tricks for making that work11:23
tseliotLaney, pushed. Sorry, but I've been dealing with too many things11:24
didrocksLaney: installing multiple times from the same live session (or with a mock system) is a dream I wish we could have (or someone assigned to this). That will indeed really speed up dev11:25
didrockswhat we did was vm snapshot + revert11:26
LaneyI just restart the VM11:26
Laneybut it's annoying to have to re-patch ubiquity and everything each time11:26
LaneyAH well11:26
didrocksyeah, hence reverting helps and you can only scp the new files11:26
didrocks(a little bit less bothering than repatching everything)11:26
didrocks(a little)11:26
Laneyheh11:27
Laneyyeah probably is better11:27
Laneydidrocks: I just uploaded oem-qemu-meta to the new queue, would be nice if you could review it and ideally accept to main, package itself is super trivial13:26
Laneythat'll be the base package for that script you asked for13:26
Laneywe need at least one of these on the iso now to be able to go on with the installer work13:26
didrocksLaney: sure, let me have a quick look13:30
Laneythx13:31
* Laney pops out to the shops13:31
didrocksLaney: the pocket name is expected?13:31
didrocksfocal-qemu13:31
didrocksno trailing comma on the binary package dep, /me is sad :p13:32
* oSoMoN sends didrocks a trailing comma,13:49
* didrocks feels better,13:49
didrocks:)13:49
marcustomlinsonhmm, I uploaded libreoffice to eoan like 5 hours ago, and still nothing in unapproved14:01
marcustomlinsonno email ack either14:02
oSoMoNmarcustomlinson, ask on #launchpad, it's happened to me a couple of times in the past, and when it did re-uploading (dput -f) did the trick14:04
marcustomlinsonoSoMoN: thanks I'll try a -f14:05
Laneydidrocks: sorry, got caught out in a windy storm!15:09
Laneyyeah, they are going to fix that soon™™™©®15:09
marcustomlinsonoSoMoN: I didn't debsign it (facepalm)15:15
marcustomlinsonlet's try that again... I just officially sponsored my first upload! (like for reals this time)15:26
Laneymarcustomlinson: use dput-ng, it will call debsign for you if it needs to :-)15:35
* Laney never manually signs stuff any more15:35
marcustomlinsonLaney: mind blown15:35
marcustomlinsonthanks :)15:35
* RikMills goes looking for dput-ng15:37
oSoMoNhave a good week-end desktoppers18:04
marcustomlinsoncheers oSoMoN!18:08
marcustomlinsonoh he’s already gone :P18:09
