novaAfter recently dist upgrading a VM and a physical PC, both seem to blank the screen after about 5 minutes even when I disable the screensaver, Screen Lock and monitor power management.  In the case of the VM I have also tried uninstalling the xfce4-screensaver and light-locker.  Can anyone tell me what is blacking out my screen and how to prevent it?  Thank you in advance.02:31
well_laid_lawnnova:  in a terminal can you run   xset -q | grep timeout02:37
novawell_laid_lawn, it returns no results02:46
novawell_laid_lawn: which is strange because xset -q does return "timeout:  0"02:48
novawell_laid_lawn: sorry I made a typo... xset -q | grep timeout returns this:02:49
novatimeout:  0    cycle:  60002:49
well_laid_lawnwell, 0 is less than 5 minutes so it must be something else. I don't now what thogh if the screensaver has been removed02:50
novaThanks for your input just the same.02:53
well_laid_lawnyou could try02:53
well_laid_lawnxset s off02:53
Bashing-omnova: 'xset dpms 0 s off' This will set it so the screensaver and power manager never kick unless you want them to.02:54

novaThank you*02:55

xubuntu61wI think I just figured it out.  I have the themes installed locally for my home user.  I'll try relocating them and rebooting.  Sorry for the dumb question18:13
