[02:31] After recently dist upgrading a VM and a physical PC, both seem to blank the screen after about 5 minutes even when I disable the screensaver, Screen Lock and monitor power management. In the case of the VM I have also tried uninstalling the xfce4-screensaver and light-locker. Can anyone tell me what is blacking out my screen and how to prevent it? Thank you in advance. [02:37] nova: in a terminal can you run xset -q | grep timeout [02:46] well_laid_lawn, it returns no results [02:48] well_laid_lawn: which is strange because xset -q does return "timeout: 0" [02:49] well_laid_lawn: sorry I made a typo... xset -q | grep timeout returns this: [02:49] timeout: 0 cycle: 600 [02:50] well, 0 is less than 5 minutes so it must be something else. I don't now what thogh if the screensaver has been removed [02:53] Thanks for your input just the same. [02:53] you could try [02:53] xset s off [02:54] nova: 'xset dpms 0 s off' This will set it so the screensaver and power manager never kick unless you want them to. [02:55] thank I'll try that [02:55] Thank you* [17:53] Does anyone know how to get qt5ct to work for root applications like gparted, synaptic... [18:13] I think I just figured it out. I have the themes installed locally for my home user. I'll try relocating them and rebooting. Sorry for the dumb question === GridCube_ is now known as GridCube === FCGreg is now known as FCGreg_AWAY
