[02:31] thanks oerheks, I saw numerous audio issues [last night mostly askubu] so now have direct location :) [03:42] good morning [07:50] good morning [08:16] Good morning === oerheks1 is now known as oerheks0 === oerheks0 is now known as oerheks [14:59] Got a bad bug with my freshly compiled kernel. Everything frozen and the vlc that was playgin music looping few ms. Had to power switch off, but nothing in logs whatever. [15:00] wich kernel was that akem [15:00] I tried to reproduce it, but all i got was a segfault from ffmpeg. [15:00] [00007f0084cd4b90] avcodec decoder: Using Intel i965 driver for Intel(R) Skylake - 2.1.0 for hardware decoding [15:00] [h264 @ 0x7f0084d06d20] mmco: unref short failure [15:00] ^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^C^CSegmentation fault (core dumped) [15:00] 5.5.9 [15:02] I think it's the hardware decoder. [15:10] akem: you need 5.5 specificly for something? [15:15] lotuspsychje, Yes, it fixes a bug with i915 lockup, and all my hardware is functionnal, especialy Wifi so i'm happy with it. [15:15] great [15:16] akem: but why dont you use the !mainline kernels? or isnt it ubuntu? [15:16] I'll continue using it, i'll see if it happens again in normal usage. That's the first time i have this bug and i was doing weird video convertions with ffmpeg :) [15:17] Yes it's Ubuntu 18.04, well because i wanted to compile my own. I always had troubles before with this hardware with Ubuntu kernels. [15:17] That one is newer. [15:18] hmm [15:18] It's an HP pavilion laptop. [15:18] i would still suggest to file a bug on the current kernel, so the devs know about your bug [15:21] I don't know where to report bugs for a kernel. [15:21] akem: filing bugs on ubuntu is not very hard, use ubuntu-bug packagename from terminal [15:22] in the case its against your kernel, ubuntu-bug linux [15:22] then you get forwarded to launchpad, enter a title & description and you got your bug [15:25] akem: just make sure you are then booted into the current kernel for your ubuntu version [15:27] skylake is 4 years old at this point, chasing kernels for something for it doesn't sound right === jelly-home is now known as jelly === arch1mede6 is now known as arch1mede === Shun131_ is now known as Shun131
