GaffelI'm unable to get cloud-init on Centos 8.1.1911 to parse my user-data file. It parses meta-data and changes the hostname accordingly but I'm unable to log in because none of the things in user-data is applied.12:40
GaffelThis is what my user-data and meta-data looks like: https://paste.centos.org/view/f126b91b12:42
GaffelIs there anything weird with user-data? I've followed both cloud-init's docs and guides from Red Hat.12:43
apollo13Gaffel: what do the logs say? the usually provide some kind of hint12:55
apollo13I had the problems just yesterday that it wouldn't create my user because admin as a user won't work if the system already has an admin group…12:56
apollo13but the logs were rather clear about that12:56
Gaffelapollo13, how do I access logs if I can't log in?14:08
GaffelThe username is "centos" and the password is blank. But that doesn't work. Nor does it accept my SSH key and it doesn't enable password login on SSH even if I specify that. I've recreated dozens of VMs so far and all I can get is meta-data.14:16
apollo13Gaffel: rescue cd usually16:55
