CarwynNelsonI'm trying to report an issue i've encountered whilst testing the mate daily image, but I'm not sure which package to report the bug against. I encountered the error `squashfs error: unable to read cache block entry 10c40` when rebooting from the install. I had a successful install previously, the major difference between these two installs being13:28
CarwynNelsonZFS.13:28
CarwynNelsonKilling my qemu vm and restarting does get me to a successful install - so it does look like the install works eventually.13:30
felcocan I dist-upgrade yeeeeeet =]13:31
lotuspsychjefelco: reccomended to upgrade on final release13:32
felcosure, is it released yet? haha13:32

captainfantasticHello guys. Does current 20.04 daily build have Gnome 3.36?13:36
lotuspsychjecaptainfantastic: yes13:37
lotuspsychje!info gnome-shell13:37
ubottugnome-shell (source: gnome-shell): graphical shell for the GNOME desktop. In component main, is optional. Version 3.36.1-4ubuntu1 (focal), package size 764 kB, installed size 3710 kB13:37
felcohey that gnome-shell is the culprit of this bug that all applications running on gnome dies and you get back to the login screen?13:38
felcois that fixed?13:38
lotuspsychjefelco: you know the bug ID?13:38
felcoUhh... let me check launchpad, I don't remember13:39
felcolotuspsychje https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-drivers-common/+bug/165534813:48
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1655348 in ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) "gpu-manager Error: can't open /lib/modules/" [Critical,Confirmed]13:48
felcoSince I got that, I did a fresh install of 19.10 and it is waay better now13:50
felcoI don't get the freeze, but sometimes gnome dies and I loose everthing loaded on the desktop13:51
tomreynthis bug report is a mix of different symptoms across different ubuntu versions, kernel versions. it's quite likely different people discussing different issues which only bear some similarities. generally, when you experience issues where both the environment and symptoms are not exactly the same as what was reported previously, the best approach is to open a *new* bug rather than to add to an existing one (you can still add a reference to 14:04
tomreynthe other bug report there).14:04
tomreynfelco: ^14:04
felcoOk14:06
lotuspsychjefelco: i would also follow tomreyn advice, try to get to the root of the problem that causes your freezes, check /var/crash , investigate dmesg & journal logs15:02
The_LoudSpeakerhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/187230815:04
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1872308 in gdm3 (Ubuntu) "wifi gets automatically disabled when screen is locked and can be enabled once rebooted" [Undecided,New]15:04
The_LoudSpeaker^ tho the issue is in eoan, sending it here coz there are probably more people here who can test it15:04
lotuspsychjeThe_LoudSpeaker: that bug is filed for 19.1015:05
The_LoudSpeakeras I said, probably more testers here.15:05
lotuspsychjeThe_LoudSpeaker: are you testing the same bug on 20.04?15:05
The_LoudSpeakerI don't have an instalation of ubuntu20.04 around15:06
lotuspsychjeThe_LoudSpeaker: then please lets keep things divided, use #ubuntu for this bug if you want15:06
The_LoudSpeakerI did.15:07
