My name is andres, noob on linux and this is my first time I test an ubuntu version. (kubuntu 20.04). I have found 3 things I dont know what is the problem. [08:01] first: When I install a theme on global themes menu, if I want to unninstall the theme I dont see the remove icon when I put the mouse on theme to be uninstall. I have to open the installer themes click on "get new global themes" button and search the theme and click to uninstall button [08:02] second: If I remove a theme, this theme does not disappear from global themes window. [08:02] third: I'm not able to close window with double click on menu icon from window. I dont know if it is a problem or not because this problem run with a lot installed themes not by default. [08:05] andres_: if you are a noob in Linux you probably should learn more before testing a pre-release and stick to a LTS release === _sunn_ is now known as sunn === _sunn_ is now known as sunn [08:40] Hi [08:40] Can I use wine in order to run office 2019? [08:43] kubuntu-new-user, check #winehq and their database [08:46] #winehq [08:56] what is difference between playonlinux to wine ? [08:57] playonlinux is a bunch of scripts. to be used with wine [08:58] so wine will be easier for use ? [08:58] some apps/games need some special configuration, that is what those scripts do [09:00] the other one is lutris. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutris === MANIAC is now known as Guest44032 === jaka is now known as stravs [09:15] Hi Acheron, Yes I need to learn more about test pre-releases. I have wrote these issues on #ubuntu-quality and I thought that they could be a good idea write them here. [09:18] andres_: you can also search the KDE bug tracker and see if those issues have already been reported [09:18] https://bugs.kde.org/ [09:18] chances are they have [09:40] Thank you Acheron === Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life [09:50] Good morning [09:52] hello lordievader [09:52] Hey Acheron === shravan is now known as shravan14 [10:07] Hi, does anyone know when the kio redirector will be updated so it does not want to download every 4 - 8 gig movie I try watch over a network. [10:08] is there a bug report for that? [10:10] Aceron, nope. This has been the default behavior since forever in KDE. Wich is different from the default behavior in Gnome, Pantheon, Deepin, MAC, Windows (95 - 10). The reason I am asking is because I read an article about this going to be fixed... [10:10] Acheron -- sorry mis spelled [10:11] i would think something like that could be fixed thru a file association [10:11] Acheron, I have tried many different players and the behavior is consistent. [10:12] The solution has been to disgard Dolphin and use Nautilus as the default file manager. [10:13] Everything works as expected then, but it looks a bit ugly.... [10:15] KDE is so much better than gnome in so many ways, so it is a bit painful to have to resort to Nautilus. :) [10:16] i just play videos over the net or download them with youtube-dl and then play them locally [10:16] over the next thru the browser i meant [10:16] i've never had that problem [10:17] KIO is an odd animal though [10:17] its a definite problem in KDE [10:17] and stuff goes unfixed for years in KDE which i don't understand [10:18] they have the resources [10:18] Linux Mint is just a handful of developers [10:18] one lead and 3-4 part times [12:03] Howdy folks === Joergi is now known as Joerg === Joerg is now known as Joergi === _sunn_ is now known as sunn === Elysion_ is now known as Elysion === user|39924 is now known as Saladac [13:22] hello guys, I recently installed the KUBUNTU distribution on my laptop. [15:40] is yourhdd listed? [15:41] in the BIOS yes [15:41] is this a ssd+hdd internal system?
