jphilipsUnit193: when would the final core iso ready, as i'm putting the link on the release page02:47
jphilipsbluesabre: regarding 'desktop integration' in the release notes, is this something new to be able to run snap and flattpaks?02:59
jphilipswith regard to pidgin-libnotify, was it removed due a python 2 dependency03:10
Unit193I'd likely be doing one last respin the night before, if there's no respins the next day/late breaking fixes then I'd update the page later on.03:12
jphilipsso tonight :D03:34
Unit193No.03:35
jphilipsdid 'the night before' mean the night before the release?03:36
jphilipsi'm utc+4, so maybe its still 22nd on your end03:36
Unit193The latter half of the message is important, with regards to "if no other errors" so not *final* until the next day.03:36
Unit193It's still the 21st, yeah.03:37
Unit193It usually ends up being a few hours after release.03:38
jphilipswell whenever you do, please give me a ping03:38
Unit193Gotcha.03:40
jphilipswhich was the last release which had 32-bit. was it 19.04?03:40
Unit193I have up until xubuntu-core.1810.i386.buildlog, it seems.03:44
Unit193I also want to ensure albinard has a chance to go over it, he's pretty much the most solid tester at this point.  Not heard a whole lot this cycle, but doesn't help we don't have a QA person anymore.03:47
jphilipsyep its in the 19.04 release notes, though not  on the released page03:47
jphilipswhat kind of testing is needed?03:48
Unit193At this point, all I can do with UEFI+secure boot is presume it works, as I don't have that.  I'm not really sure of anything else specific.03:49
Unit193Note: I'm not complaining, it is what it is.  Maybe there's not as much as a desire for this too, I don't know. :)03:53
jphilips:D03:57
jphilipsthis is what the release blog post looks like presently https://i.imgur.com/C6ZxtEG.png03:58
Unit193On the bright side, no testers means no bugs.  I think I'm good with this. :D03:58
jphilipsbluesabre: let me know if any of the other known issues should be included03:58
jphilipsUnit193: is UEFI+secure boot new to this release and is it not available in desktop or other flavors03:59
Unit193In the past it's been noted that the Core builds are community, it's likely best to note that still.03:59
Unit193jphilips: Not new, just something that in theory could break and I'd never know.03:59
jphilipsits desktop also community :D04:00
jphilipswhat wording would you like04:01
jphilips'xubuntu core, a community minimal installation option'04:01
Unit193I'd have to look at the old release notes.  Well yeah, but the desktop is built and hosted on the official infra, so a bit different.04:01
knomeanother LTS...06:08
knome(:06:09
jphilipsyep. tomorrow is the big day06:11
Unit193knome: Are you sure it isn't a STS?!06:13
Unit193...This isn't -ot.06:13
TJ-xf86-video-amdgpu is now fixed upstream; will prepare patch for 20.04 as soon as the patch is in the mainline repository 07:58
xubuntu70Hello, I AM new here. O:3 09:12
=== xubuntu70 is now known as mosshai
jphilipsknome: have to say that the trusty wallpaper is the one i like the most :D09:53
jphilipsutopic is also great09:54
Unit193If memory services, 10.04.09:54
Unit193Serves*09:54
jphilipsyou like 10.04 the most Unit193 09:55
jphilipstrusty is 14.0409:56
Unit193If I'm remembering the right one, 10.04 was pretty good, yeah.09:56
jphilipshttps://xubuntu.org/xubuntu-lucid/09:56
Unit193...I don't remember which it was then.09:59
jphilipsyou can click the next and previous buttons on the page to go through them09:59
Unit193Yes I noticed that. :P09:59
jphilipsi had seen the utopic wallpaper is someones desktop screenshot and i was like, 'wow that looks nice, i should try to get it', not knowing it was from xubuntu :D10:00
jphilipsmakes me wonder why we dont ship more of the older wallpapers10:01
Unit193...Wow, never saw the Hardy one.10:01
jphilipsubuntu did a online poll on twitter and the winner got added to 20.04 :D10:01
Unit193But, I like darker blue so something along the lines of Lucid or Jaunty, though I remember the former being darker.  (Man I've been around too long, should follow knome out the door...)10:03
jphilipslikely your screen was darker in those days :D10:04
jphilipswell knome hasnt left as he always comes back for a great wallpaper :D10:04
bluesabrejphilips: RE: desktop integration, we could always run them, but they lacked theme integration. This meant they always took the Adwaita GTK theme and basically had no icons. Regarding pidgin-libnotify, it doesn't seem to have a python2 dep directly: https://packages.ubuntu.com/eoan/pidgin-libnotify10:30
bluesabrejphilips: yeah, there's more bugs I need to go through and add to the release notes10:31
jphilipswas the lack of theme integration because greybird wasn't in the snap and flatpak repos?10:31
bluesabreTJ-: that's awesome. Way to go!10:32
jphilipsso what was the reasoning why pidgin-libnotify was removed10:32
bluesabrejphilips: I do not know. I'll have to do some digging to figure out why.10:33
bluesabrejphilips: yes, the lack of theme integration was exactly that.10:33
jphilipsthanks. just looking to add as much info to the shorter release notes :D10:37
bluesabre:)10:39
bluesabreLP might be having some issues serving files. `dget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+sourcefiles/xfwm4/4.14.1-0ubuntu1/xfwm4_4.14.1-0ubuntu1.dsc` doesn't want to complete11:21
