[00:27] josefvin: I'm taking a break. [00:27] * Eickmeyer is exhausted [00:28] Eickmeyer: in your menu, audio effects... does it seem over full? [00:28] OvenWerks: kinda [00:29] OvenWerks: You added the Backports PPA? Yeah, I need to move the effects from lsp-plugins to its own submenu. The upstream developer made a submenu, and it just needs to be placed. I guess I should JFDI. [00:29] * Eickmeyer worked with the lsp-plugins developer on that [00:30] That'll be on my to-do for tomorrow. It should only affect people with backports. [00:31] Eickmeyer: I have some work to do to make our menu work properly with plasma anyway [00:32] OvenWerks: Can I get the changes I have in mind into Backports first? Pwetty pweeze? [00:32] I am guessing they have named their .directory files different. [00:33] Eickmeyer: no worries, I have other things to do [00:33] Ok [00:40] BTW I have found out that one icon set references another by the folder name not the Icon theme name :) [00:44] Ahhhhh [00:44] Actually, I think I knew that. [00:44] prolly [00:45] * OvenWerks is seeing a line passenger jets as far as the eye can see [00:46] Incoming flights to YVR, I assume. [00:46] no, video footage from the US I would guess [00:47] Oh, I thought you were looking at the sky. [00:47] skies are MT [00:48] Oh, cool. [00:48] We had a helicopter fly overhead earlier. [00:49] I think I have heard the odd SARS plane flying around. [00:50] There is probably still lots of cargo going. [00:50] Oh, I'm sure. [02:48] Eickmeyer: our menu is out of date anyway. I notice it still has ubuntu-software-center [02:53] OvenWerks: That's technically still a legitimate package. [02:53] It's a fork of gnome-software-center [02:54] No matter anyhow as it doesnt show unless the package is installed. [03:02] Ya, doesn't show. [04:11] * OvenWerks is putting his build system back together [05:03] Huh, I was missing a package... no .directory files. === dax is now known as housecat [08:22] When I search software-center in apt, the only one that comes up is kylin. And, I have all of the repos turned on. [09:56] one nice thing about kde it does come with discover [09:56] kde plasma* [09:57] I'll learn it... one day [15:25] !info gnome-software focal | StevenJayCohen [15:25] StevenJayCohen: gnome-software (source: gnome-software): Software Center for GNOME. In component main, is optional. Version 3.36.0-0ubuntu3 (focal), package size 874 kB, installed size 6646 kB [15:26] StevenJayCohen: I had the package name wrong. [15:40] Groovy Gorilla. https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/groovy-gorilla-release-schedule/15531 [15:41] (It's official) [15:43] !20.10 [15:44] Ubuntu 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) will be the 33rd release of Ubuntu, scheduled for release October 2020 ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GroovyGorilla/ReleaseSchedule ). I can do a lot with it, enjoying editing. … But I totally hate its titler. [16:07] dropping this here in preparation of the software review. [17:20] Groovy Gorilla? Isn't that a bit close to Gutsy Gibbon? [17:20] Or is that intentional? Are Fossas and Foxes both canids? [17:43] interesting, in plasma, "edit applications" (kmenuedit) shows all of the icons for the menu items but any of the menu options seem not to show all the icons. [17:44] I had thought when I first installed plasma they showed but after changing icon themes a number of them vanished [17:45] and now they are working again :P [17:45] never mind (or is that lost mind?) [17:50] OvenWerks: I had some simliar issues with that. [17:50] But, figured it out. [17:50] OvenWerks: My fixes for -menu are uploaded to backports, feel free to mess with the menu. [17:51] (everything is pushed) [17:51] And NOW, I must depart to fix my parents' computer because my dad doesn't know how to NOT install Chrome extensions from outside of the official repo. *big facepalm*
