BlendphysHi all. Yesterday I reported on this pcmanfm-qt bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm-qt/+bug/1875078). I now want to compile pcmanfm-qt from source (https://github.com/lxqt/pcmanfm-qt).08:27
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1875078 in pcmanfm-qt (Ubuntu) "'pcmanfm-qt -w <path_to_image>' does update wallpaper only after mouse movement" [Undecided,Confirmed]08:27
BlendphysBefore I start with make and make install, I have to call cmake. However, it requires some parameters. Where can I find them or a description of how to compile pcmanfm-qt?08:28

BlendphysRe all. I have a new question (Lubuntu 20.04, 64Bit + compiz): I use the 'invisible' theme of gkrellm2. The transparency does not work. Any idea?12:45
pgpfoxHi, i need help.. I installed lubuntu, and figured out i wanted xfce instead so i installed xubuntu-desktop package. Everything works fine except quite often when im no active at my computer and gets signed out, i cant log in. When i type my password i get sent back to login screen and i cant type anything in the password field..14:54
pgpfoxSo i have to reboot my computer to be able to sign in again.14:54
lubot<TheLimeRunner> @pgpfox - I personally would recommend reinstalling using an Xubuntu ISO. While you can change DEs on active installs, it can cause some weird issues.14:55
pgpfoxlubot: thank you for your reply, that might be the best sollution. One more thing, when i installed lubuntu i couldnt find a choice to encrypt my drive at install.. is that how its supposed to be or am i just blind?14:59
kc2bezpgpfox: There is an option to encrypt. Here is a link to our manual that has a screenshot: https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/1/1.3/installation.html#setting-up-partitions15:04
kc2bezIn the screenshot is the tickbox to enable encryption.15:04
pgpfoxthank you for your help :)15:07
kc2bezYou are most welcome.15:08
BlendphysHi kc2bez, may be you can help me:  I use the 'invisible' theme of gkrellm2. The transparency does not work. Any idea?15:08
kc2bezHave you enabled compton Blendphys ?15:09
koldfI have an issue with snap on lubuntu15:09
koldfshould I ask away here?15:09
koldfor is there a better chan15:10
kc2bezIs the issue with a snap or Lubuntu koldf ?15:10
koldfwell somehow my snap made 2 /dev/loop devices that I can't remove15:10
koldfand put them in /media instead under snap15:11
kc2bezThat isn't necessarily a Lubuntu issue so I think the question would be better for the snapcraft folks.15:12
koldf#snapcraft chan?15:13
kc2bezkoldf: you can post about it on the snapcraft.io forum. The #snappy channel is mostly development related.15:14
Blendphyskc2bez, compton says: 'Another composite manager is already running'15:15
Blendphyskc2bez, compton is not in the list of running processes15:16
kc2bezBlendphys: You will need to find out which compositor you have running and see if it supports transparency or disable it and run compton that ships with Lubuntu.15:19
Blendphyskc2bez, at the moment compiz is running for sure15:20
BlendphysI just installed and activated it ...15:20
kc2bezBlendphys: did that resolve your issue?15:23
Blendphyskc2bez, I have compiz on 18.04 and there I don't have the problem with gkrellm215:26
BlendphysI'm currently searching inside the properties of compiz15:26
kc2bezYou may want to reach out to the developer of gkrellm2 as well.15:28

lubot<heysoundude> I’ve followed the steps in the manual, but my machine doesn’t seem to want to upgrade. Help please?16:03
Not_White_RabbitHi. Just installed lubuntu 20.04. Is it possible to DISABLE BOLD in QTERMINAL ?17:44
lubot<ecsamrl> and 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) is already out and is it stable?22:47
guiverc@oscamri, Yep, see https://lubuntu.me/focal-released/22:50
lubot<lynorian> upgrade to 20.04 @heysoundude22:54
lubot<heysoundude> That’s what I’d like, yes. But the steps in the manual have left me on 19.1022:55
lubot<lynorian> did you run do-release-upgrade with sudo in front of it22:56
lubot<heysoundude> It has been a while, but I believe so. I may have been trying from root22:57
lubot<heysoundude> Without the sudo22:57
lubot<lynorian> did you have any error messages?22:58
krytarikhttps://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release - since this file doesn't list Focal yet, it won't be offered to upgrade to unless one uses the '-d' flag.23:02
lubot<ecsamrl> on command … sudo do-release-upgrade -c -d … shows me that there is an update23:46
lubot<ecsamrl> but on command  … do-release-upgrade  … no23:47
lubot<heysoundude> @lynorian [did you have any error messages?], No, not as I recall. It just didn’t upgrade.  … I’ll try again tomorrow when I’m back at my machine23:50
lubot<ecsamrl> i need … sudo do-release-upgradr -d … ?23:53
guiverc@ecsamrl, it's usual for a ISO release to occur a Thursday (as 20.04 was), however the 'taps' that enable release-upgrades to work don't usually occur till Mon-Tue of the following week (ie. the -d will not be required later today, tomorrow, that's the norm)23:53
lubot<ecsamrl> but now can i use -d?23:54
guivercyep - it's required before the 'taps' get turned on (that cause the message offering upgrades to appear on 19.10's boxes)23:55
guivercISO gets released, it's used by 'new install' users, .. the delay allows a staggered hit on servers.. 19.10->20.04 upgrades occur after 'taps' get enabled (no set day/time, it's when a decision is made re: stability etc)23:56
