[03:22] good morning [05:37] Hey [05:38] good morning [05:38] Good morning! [05:38] the latest update for 20.04 fixed the .deb files [05:38] they now install after a double-click [05:39] i didnt get updates here [05:39] lotuspsychje: Have you clicked in the update app? [05:39] was your system not up to date when you tested that? [05:39] i wouldn't find that too important, it's the wrong way to get software and only one of many ways to install a .deb [05:39] it was [05:40] the first thing I do when I run my VMs is to click in the update app [05:40] marcoagpinto: lol i know howto update my system [05:40] :) [05:40] so, the fix was only today [05:40] yesterday ther was no fix [05:40] there* === dax is now known as housecat [10:26] welcome MdAyq0 [10:27] Dear users, does anyone know why xpdf has not been taken to focal? [10:32] is there a wiki page that confirms what's said in !ltsupgrade? [10:33] MdAyq0: i imagine there are many tools which achieve the same [10:34] ducasse: looking around [10:34] !lts [10:34] LTS means Long Term Support. LTS versions are supported for 5 years on the desktop and server. The latest LTS version of Ubuntu is !Focal (Focal Fossa 20.04). Ubuntu !flavors may have different support durations, check their release notes for information. [10:35] daftykins xpdf allows magnification over 1000%. Evince, the viewer of gnome, doesn't go over 400%. [10:35] why do you want that level of zoom? [10:35] there are other viewers, try some more? [10:35] MdAyq0: according to Launchpad xpdf was not being maintained [10:37] MdAyq0: the last release was in 2007 [10:38] daftykins 10x zoom is useful for checking exact alignment on small examples. [10:38] ducasse IMHO there is recent version 4. [10:39] MdAyq0: availability of software doesn't guarantee inclusion, a maintainer has to package it [10:41] daftykins No maintainer? [10:41] yes [10:42] most current Xpdf and XpdfReader is indeed v4.02 dated September 25th 2019, so yes perhaps it lost a maintainer [10:42] you can still compile from source if you want it [10:50] daftykins The last maintainer from eoan was "Debian QA Group". [10:51] daftykins And debian does not ship version 4, but 3.04-13exp3 at best. [10:53] ducasse: here's an alinea about the phylosopy about it: https://ubuntu.com/blog/first-point-release-of-18-04-lts-available-today [11:00] quite what relevance that had to my life, i don't know [12:31] coconut: crrcsim - Model-Airplane Flight Simulator [12:34] hehe, no not that one either... :D [12:38] got it! it's "Chromium B.S.U."
