[04:09] I have two monitors plugged into my lapyop, three displays. I extended the desktop. When I right click the desktop it tells me "Desktop manager is not active." Running 'sudo pcmanfm --desktop' Fixes it temporarily. Any idea what could have caused this, and how to fix it please? === DalekSec is now known as WrathOfAchilles === mike_ is now known as Guest52428 === Sam_ is now known as Guest4277 === maccraft is now known as macc24 [15:43] hi everyone [15:53] hello [16:07] i want to theme an debian computer with lubuntu flavor, is there any guide out there ? [16:22] Hello, you could try find a way to install LXQT on your debian(dont know if its possible) [16:23] where is wxl ? he seems to be the only one who answers questions here [16:24] plop6: i believe that's offtopic here though because Debian, and there's no guides about how to do it. [16:25] Munsko: Debian has LXQt yes [16:25] it's how I deploy my Debian Unstable VMs that need GUIs [16:25] but that's a bit outside the scope of Lubuntu support since you're asking how to alter Debain [16:25] strobe2020: wxl answers most frequently yes but there's a lot of other people here who answer questions too [16:26] teward, well i posted one yesterday [16:26] still no response [16:26] well consider that you don't usually get answers from anyone unless they know a solution [16:27] What did you post strobe2020 ? I don't see it. [16:28] i have admin rights to a remote host. i simply want to log into my own desktop instance [16:28] there is already another user running an xsession on it [16:33] strobe2020: You may want to read this thread on our discourse site https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/switch-to-a-second-graphical-user-session-without-closing-the-first-one/744 [16:33] kc2bez, i'll do that, thx [16:35] I've never experimented with that strobe2020 so I don't have firsthand experience. [16:54] How can i add in the hotbar a new item?(where u have firefox, files explorer and "show the desktop") [16:55] DND [17:34] kc2bez, so, i tried your suggestion and got this error message: [17:35] /usr/lib/xorg/Xorg.wrap: Only console users are allowed to run the X server [17:35] I am logged in remotely [17:35] but i created and edited the ~/.xinitrc [17:46] strobe2020: So by logged in remotely I am guessing via ssh? [17:51] kc2bez, yes, ssh with private key authentication. i'm logged in via virtual console tty, but i get the same error message even if i use a an xterminal. [17:51] apparently, there needs to be a physical person at the host computer to run the startx command from a virtual console [17:52] but i haven't tested that yet, so i don't know if it works. if it does, then i'd need to connect via vncserver which is also running [17:52] i just need to know which screen number it's using [17:54] i'm already running ssh -YC to run a graphics program from the host, but i'd like a full desktop environment while a different user is using the same computer, also running their own desktop [17:54] to basically have two users using the same system, running lxqt deskops and staying out of each other's way [18:01] hello === lubuntu is now known as Guest43110 === Guest43110 is now known as makka
