[11:53] @devikri, what do you mean by wp? [11:53] @guiverc [ @devikri, what do you mean by wp?], *Wallpaper sorry [11:55] I'm not aware of there being a wallpaper; lockscreen is handled by xscreensaver [11:55] https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/3/3.2/3.2.20/screensaver.html [11:57] Ok thx 😄 === lubuntu is now known as Guest99422 [16:16] Hello, I have an odd issue on 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) for Lubuntu 20.04 and running Nvidia Driver 340.108. After some time, I can only see the background of new tabs. Killing a process named 'chrome --type=gpu-process --field-trial-handle=....... --gpu-prefrences.... --shared-files` causes the content on those new tab links and page to reappear. [17:11] lleachii: if you are having issues with a snap it might be a good idea to look for help on the snapcraft forum. [17:12] thanks [17:38] lleachii: did you already try to reach out to the creator of the snap? [17:39] which snap is this by the way? [17:39] not yet... [17:39] snap 2.44.3+20.04 [17:39] snapd 2.44.3+20.04 [17:39] series 16 [17:39] ubuntu 20.04 [17:39] kernel 5.4.0-29-generic [17:41] err [17:41] i mean which piece of software? [17:41] or are you saying snapd itself??? [17:41] Chromium Brower has the issue as noted [17:41] Hello, I have an odd issue on 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) for Lubuntu 20.04 and running Nvidia Driver 340.108. After some time, I can only see the background of new tabs. Killing a process named 'chrome --type=gpu-process --field-trial-handle=....... --gpu-prefrences.... --shared-files` causes the content on those new tab links and page to reappear. [17:42] Was told to try runnng with --gpu-disabled [17:42] oh hahahahah [17:42] i looked all over and couldn't see what you were talking about [17:42] should have looked very hard in the middle for "chrome" [17:42] and considering revering to nouveau driver [17:43] anyways, yeah, that's the sort of issue you'd want to contact canonical about [17:43] curious tho [17:43] my bad, i only noted the process, lol [17:43] are you using compton or any sort of compositing? [17:43] sometimes it works ridiculous magic for graphical issues [17:43] fresh install and enabled Nvidia only [17:44] try turning it on [17:45] compton is installed...clled "Special effect settings" [17:45] installed is not on [17:45] not sure what makes it on or off... [17:45] it's disabled by default [17:45] there's a service you can flick on in session settings [17:46] anyways it looks like they want you to just write a bug report if you have a problem https://snapcraft.io/chromium [17:46] OK! [17:46] the whole chromium as snap thing is a total yuck fest if you ask me. i'd just use firefox tbh :/ [17:48] ok...enabled...I'll wait and see... [17:51] AAAH [17:51] chnaged to OpenGL... [17:51] now i see someting... [17:51] now everything is opaque [18:13] https://www.magpcss.org/ceforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17030 [18:21] Compton didn't solve issue [18:24] c'est la vie [18:38] seems an issue with Nivida drivers and Chrome: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/t/hardware-accelarated-video-decoding-in-chromium/2262/37 [18:39] WIll try Nouveau when able. [18:50] so far so good with Nouveau... [20:15] Hmm [20:34] now remote viewers see camera flickering using Nouveau [21:00] https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/5x3rjc5qhQ/ === cfoch_ is now known as cfoch
