Lilith_ArdatHello. Is there a way in 20.04 to select particular updates to install as it was in 18.04 or am I just stuck with selecting a group of updates (verses)?08:48
Lilith_ArdatI only see "Apply full upgrade" option here and Software Sources dialog window.08:48
Lilith_ArdatBut Apply Full Upgrade does not allow me to select particular packages to upgrade08:49
Lilith_ArdatIn OTHER WORDS. I would like to see AT LEAST which packages are going to be upgraded before I click on Apply Full Upgrade.08:52
Lilith_ArdatI dont like when I am asked to update and I do not know what I am getting.08:53
Lilith_Ardatlike it was when in LXDE08:54
Lilith_Ardatlooks like im going to do this in terminal, sigh08:58
Lilith_Ardatheh, why all the fancy gui apps, when easier solution is just use apt command lol09:00

lubot<IndianOSR911> Hi17:43
shanehello17:44
shaneexperimenting with Lubuntu on VM (also recently discovered)17:45
lubot<IndianOSR911> Hey that's my status18:07
lubot<IndianOSR911> Well how do I install RDP Server on Lubuntu?18:07
lubot<IndianOSR911> Any guides/leads?18:07
lubot<IndianOSR911> Every guide on internet is about ubuntu and Xfce as UI18:07
lubot<IndianOSR911> I don't want to use xfce18:08
apt-ghettoA RDP server?18:08
lubot<IndianOSR911> Xrdp basically18:09
lubot<kc2bez> You want to remote into your Lubuntu machine? Or you want to use Lubuntu to remote into another machine?18:10
lubot<IndianOSR911> Hi Dan , the first one..18:11
lubot<IndianOSR911> Remote in to Lubuntu machine18:11
apt-ghettoFrom Windows or another Linux?18:11
lubot<IndianOSR911> Windows :)18:11
lubot<IndianOSR911> I'm trying to setup a Lubuntu machine on Vultr18:11
lubot<IndianOSR911> A cloud VM18:12
lubot<kc2bez> Ok, nomachine is one option. It is cross platform.18:12
lubot<IndianOSR911> The use case is multiple users should be able to login and work via that Lubuntu machine18:12
lubot<IndianOSR911> 4-5 users would be using that machine18:13
lubot<kc2bez> https://www.nomachine.com/18:13
lubot<IndianOSR911> The machine is bounded by an IP address18:13
lubot<IndianOSR911> So it checks all the boxes for the use case?18:14
lubot<IndianOSR911> But it's paid I see18:14
lubot<kc2bez> Yeah, it isn't open source unfortunately. Free for personal use though.18:15
lubot<IndianOSR911> okies great18:16
lubot<IndianOSR911> Let me try that then18:16
lubot<IndianOSR911> Thank you!18:16
lubot<kc2bez> You are welcome, happy to help.18:17
lubot<IndianOSR911> I see 3 options at the Login Screen18:41
lubot<IndianOSR911> Lubuntu, LxQt and OpenBox18:41
lubot<IndianOSR911> What's the difference b/w Lubuntu and LxQt ?18:41
apt-ghettoThe configuration, LXQt is from upstream18:42
lubot<IndianOSR911> upstream? means the Ubuntu packages?18:42
apt-ghettoNo, the LXQt project18:42
lubot<IndianOSR911> ..not aware of the terminology18:42
lubot<IndianOSR911> Oh Okay!18:42
lubot<IndianOSR911> I'm trying to configure XRDP18:42
lubot<IndianOSR911> what is the value for Lubuntu ?18:43
lubot<kc2bez> Lubuntu is configured by the Lubuntu team, it also the one we test.18:43
lubot<IndianOSR911> like I can write openbox if I need to get that loaded..18:43
lubot<IndianOSR911> am I in the right group? This is support group - correct?18:43
wxl@IndianOSR911 just use Lubuntu. the other two are basically unconfigured.18:44
wxlthey will give an incomplete experience18:44
wxlit certainly won't look anything like one expects lubuntu to look18:44
wxland, yes, this is the support group18:45
lubot<IndianOSR911> Xrdp uses startwm.sh file to launch the X session. If you want to use another X Window desktop, edit this file.18:46
lubot<IndianOSR911> I see the following in the file...18:46
lubot<IndianOSR911> (Photo, 528x54) https://i.imgur.com/pJUYSnk.jpg18:47
wxlfirst, i'll suggest that if you're doing remote desktop, nomachine is the best thing i've ever used. it's proprietary, but it's pretty amazing. i use it every single day.18:48
wxlyou won't have to worry about *any* of this crap with nomachine18:48
lubot<IndianOSR911> Terminal Server is the product, right?18:50
wxlhuh?18:51
apt-ghettoTake a look at /usr/share/xsessions/Lubuntu.desktop18:53
wxlyeah that, if you want to mess with xrdp18:54
wxl(i wouldn't)18:54

santimir[m]days ago went through 'manual partitioning' for installing lubuntu 20.0422:44
santimir[m]in the manual it can be read that for booting in UEFI mode you need /boot/efi with ESP flag22:47
santimir[m]that flag isn't there, i've used 'boot' I believe and it works fine...22:48
