ricotzgood morning everyone07:26
ricotzwho is able to make nvidia-graphics-drivers-450 having i386 builds?07:27
dufluMorning ricotz 07:31
dufluHeh, yeah that update accidentally encouraged me to purge too many packages today. And I had to rebuild the whole system07:32

ricotzLaney, hi, regarding nvidia-450 missing i386 packages, is that something you can do?08:06
ricotz(note this is urgent while it forces a transition from 440 already)08:07
ricotztseliot_, fyi ^08:08
Laneymoin didrocks marcustomlinson oSoMoN ricotz08:08
Laneyricotz: no, that needs ~ubuntu-archive08:08
ricotzLaney, I see08:09
tseliot_ricotz, yes, that needs and admin08:10
Laneyricotz: you can make a merge proposal to lp:ubuntu-archive-tools to help that if you want08:10
Laneyupdate-i386-whitelist08:10

tseliot_Laney, that script doesn't seem to allow passing in new packages, unless I'm missing something obvious08:17

ricotztseliot_, thanks, I would have expected there is a mention of e.g. 440 already somewhere08:41
dufluMorning seb128 08:42
tseliot_ricotz, I think those were added to the list manually08:42
ricotztseliot_, I see, I don't think this is the correct way to added them08:45
tseliot_ricotz, hopefully they will recommend whichever the correct way is when they review the MP08:46

dandreHello,09:00
dandreI am using vino server with remmina client between two pcs (A and B). From A to B every thing works fine, but from B to A I can't get dead keys characters (ê on a french keyboard).09:00
dandreAll pcs are under 18.04 and up to date.09:00
dandreWhat should I do to track this issue?09:00
seb128dandre, hey, it's not an user support channel here, try #ubuntu. I also don't think we have people with particular knowledge of those components or problems here, it would need investigating. It should be working in bonic, https://github.com/FreeRDP/Remmina/pull/1265 was prior to the lts version, unsure what's the difference between the configs09:13
gitbotFreeRDP issue (Pull request) 1265 in Remmina "RDP client keyboard mapping with GTK3" [Enhancement, Closed]09:13
seb128you could try another client than remmina to see if that makes a difference09:13

UnivrslSuprBoxCC from #ubuntu-devel yesterday...12:47
UnivrslSuprBoxIf I use a snap application that uses xdg-portals, snapd starts xdg-portals-gtk and performs my request. When this occurs, gnome-shell knows to "lock" the dialog that appears to the window that it's coming from and dims the application. How does the shell know to do this? What code handles popping up the dialogs modally? The application is in confinement and the dialog opening modally outside.12:47
UnivrslSuprBoxI ask because we need to replicate this behavior in Lomiri and having some direction to how someone else did it would be nice.12:47
cpaelzeris it a (intentional?) new feature that a mouse pointer over a terminal emulator starts to "hide" once someone types into that terminal?13:11
cpaelzerand one needs to click to get the curser visible again?13:11
cpaelzerhmm I just see that gnome terminal gets the curser back when moving, while a KDE terminal only gets it back on click13:13
seb128Trevinho, ^ you might know about that one?13:26
seb128cpaelzer, hidding on hide is old and expected but it should come back when moving the mouse13:27
* Trevinho looks13:27
Trevinhocpaelzer: it's indeed something gnome-terminal related, as I can reproduce there but not in Tilix13:28
seb128gedit does hide it as well, probably something GTK does13:29
cpaelzerhmm, thanks to all of you then13:30
cpaelzersince I usually use gnome but with the kde terminal program I need to find why I need to click there13:30
cpaelzermoving would be fine, but since I need to click I search my poointer way too often13:31
cpaelzerdouble checked - two different KDE based terminals behave the same13:31
seb128likely an issue in a kde library13:34
cpaelzeryeah, but new enough to be a an upgrade issue as it worked well on focal before13:38
cpaelzerI owe my system a bunch of updates anyway, will do them towards the weekend and then I'll see13:38
TrevinhoUnivrslSuprBox: it should be in gnome-shell's windowManager.js where we handle the attached dialog, ther's code to do the dimming13:50
cpaelzerseb128: Trevinho: just found that it isn't limited to KDE based terminals - anything window being kde based seems to have this behavior14:05
cpaelzerjust FYI for now14:05
seb128cpaelzer, seems to confirm a problem with a kde lib14:06
cpaelzeragreed14:06
