M_aDAnyone of you using the Ubuntu Unity Remix?16:07
lotuspsychjeadding bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zsys/+bug/1886214 to the -discuss bug team as ive seen multiple users reporting it lately16:08
lotuspsychjeM_aD: i had some early netbooks where that first ubuntu remix was running on, been a while since ive seen it16:14
tomreynhttps://ubuntuunity.org/ lists established support channels, in case you're looking for any16:14
M_aDnot looking for support, was just asking. We have a irc channel too now.16:15
M_aDor should i have taken it to -offtopic instead?16:16
lotuspsychjeno its ok here16:16
lotuspsychjeits a discussion, and its about ubuntu :p16:17
M_aDok, thanks for letting know :)16:17
lotuspsychjeM_aD: its the ubports guys continue the project?16:18
M_aDUbuntu Unity Remix is done by a 10 year old boy who's known as rs2009 here on IRC. Unity 7 is maintained by the community.16:22
lotuspsychjeM_aD: what would you say the benefits are of the new remix?16:23
M_aDbeen using it for a week now but never really thought about that. i just like unity16:29
lotuspsychjeM_aD: normal unity desktop is also still a thing on 20.0416:30
M_aDthat's what Ubuntu Unity is16:31
lotuspsychjeM_aD: but you are talking about remix, thats something else right16:31
M_aDmy bad, i meant the Ubuntu Unity project to which tomreyn gave the link16:32
* M_aD is still tired from work and has to go again in a couple of hours16:34
lotuspsychjeubuntu remix old, unity7, unity8, unity remix new, ubuntu unity desktop lol16:35
lotuspsychjepick n choose16:35
M_aDdon't confuse me now16:36
M_aD:D16:36
M_aDlotuspsychje: it's this one: https://ubuntuunity.org/16:37
lotuspsychjei know im just messing around :p16:37
M_aDoh you tease16:38
tomreynin case you contribute to it and would like to make it show up here https://ubuntu.com/download/flavours you could /join #ubuntu-flavors and read up on how to make it a recognized flavor16:40
tomreynbecause "Ubuntu" is trademarked (and i think canonmical cares about this somewhat nowadays), keeping the name in a non recognized flavour could bring up the need to discuss this. maybe unity is a special case, though, not sure.16:43
M_aDtomreyn: you might need to contact the project lead rs2009 about that. Afaik popey joined in on Telegram a while ago but i don't know how far he is involved in it.16:54
tomreynM_aD: okay, i don't care at all, just thought you might16:55
M_aDI joined in just recently and offered help as Op in the IRC channel in case more people might join in there. I'll pass it on to the project lead. I might and hope to get involved more though in the future.16:57
tomreyn:) nice, good luck there!16:59
M_aDthanks :)17:00
M_aDhe answered... that was fast17:14
M_aDtomreyn: The Unity7 Maintainers had taken permission from Canonical and the Ubuntu Desktop team to use the name Ubuntu Unity Remix. In fact, Alan Pope himself had approved this name for the project when I'd started it. And I'll be trying for official flavor status like the other remixes.17:15
M_aDthat was his reply17:15
tomreynM_aD: nice. as i mentioned, i don't personally care at all, but it'll be relevant to the project, so that's good.17:26

tomreynsarnold: maybe you never had a buggy enough bios to care?19:26
tomreynor just buggy elsewhere ;)19:26
sarnoldtomreyn: a non-buggy bios? :D19:28
sarnoldcertainly though I see a *lot* of bioses in bugreports that are clearly much worse than the ones I usually see19:28
tomreyni did correct what i said! ;-)19:29
tomreynthis one is sufficently mediocre to make you spend time on it19:29
tomreynif you search for acpi on https://termbin.com/3uf719:30
