Eickmeyer[m]OvenWerks: Awaiting release team approval, should happen overnight.00:08
MauroGaspari[m]Guys, would you like to have a look at an audio related article i wrote on front page linux? I was trying to see if I could achieve results similar to what I did with ubuntu studio.  But with pulseaudio and pulseeffects. I did all I could, and managed some decent results. But nowhere near what JACK and ubuntu studio does. Would be cool if you could have a look and let me know if I forgot imprtant things10:25
MauroGaspari[m]Soon i will publish a 3rd very biased article to wrap up the audio server series. 😅10:26
Eickmeyer[m]Mauro Gaspari: I'd love to have a look, but what you're describing sounds pretty typical. PulseAudio isn't built for low-latency audio work, such as processing effects. This is why we don't install it by default. In the future, Pipewire might be more apt to handling it. Pulseeffects is known to be a little CPU heavy.15:02
OvenWerksfor the same latency pulse uses about twice as much cpu as jack.15:52

MauroGaspari[m]That's the one. I am not an expert on pulse but I have been checking every man page, guide, wiki and tried my best. Managed to get it tolerable but as soon as i started adding a couple of effects with pulseeffects, that latency just could not be brought down to the levels i get in JACK by defauly16:16
MauroGaspari[m]Glad to know it was not just me then 😄16:16
RikMillsEickmeyer[m]: there is kdeconnect bugfix release tomorrow, so please test that with the SMS when it comes ;)17:49
Eickmeyer[m]RikMills: Cool, will do! \o/17:49
Eickmeyer[m]RikMills: At least having a bug to close with the update is a good thing for the release team to have, so that usually speeds things through the queue.17:50
RikMillsEickmeyer[m]: I am not sure if it will fix your issue, but tomorrows release also fixes CVEs, so it is high priority no matter what 17:52
Eickmeyer[m]RikMills: Good point.17:52
