Eickmeyer[m]OvenWerks: RE:  JACK_NO_START_SERVER ... would that go studio-controls or should that be a desktop default? I'd think it'd be a studio-controls thing in order to make it DE-agnostic.15:19
OvenWerksEickmeyer[m]: it would have to be a part of the desktop tweaks I think15:20
Eickmeyer[m]Ok, so that doesn't help people who aren't installing the iso.15:20
OvenWerkscontrols can not set an environment that everything else will pick up15:20
Eickmeyer[m]It can if it simply installs a file in /etc/environment.d15:20
OvenWerksOk15:21
OvenWerksso logind uses that then?15:23
Eickmeyer[m]Yep.15:23
Eickmeyer[m]Actually, it could be systemd as part of the init.15:24
OvenWerksEickmeyer[m]: I don't think waffl3x is actively looking at irc anyway.15:24
Eickmeyer[m]I don't think so either, but they'll get the message when they do. Mauro Gaspari and rgh should know better than to keep, what looks like, a non-support discussion going in a support channel.15:25
MauroGaspari[m]Eickmeyer: waffl3x was asking questions about jack and how to get it to work, well at least in the beginning it looked to me like the good channel for a question like that, no?15:27
Eickmeyer[m]Yeah, that is, but the discussion did degrade.15:27
MauroGaspari[m]yeah... I tried a bit but it looked like a one way rant in the end15:27
Eickmeyer[m]I'm not mad, it just looked kinda odd.15:28
MauroGaspari[m]yes, agreed. Next time if it switches from purely support/tech question to general chat/rant I will politely ask people to move to the other channel.15:29
Eickmeyer[m]Mauro Gaspari: Awesome. Thanks. :)15:29
MauroGaspari[m]no worries. I was just a bit frustrated. I told him like 2 times try on a separate disk, try a fresh install. I did not go in depth why but I know that jack, jack2, carla cadence and all the stuff. it is well too easy to make a big impossible mess15:30
MauroGaspari[m]😅I know because... err... coff coff... a friend of a friend told me it could happen🤣15:31
