[08:17] <xtao> dpkg --verify shows the only file it is questioning is /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf
[08:17] <xtao> but that file is overwritten every time you change the settings, which has no effect
[08:20] <sorinello> I compared LightDM GTK+  Grteeter with the one from 20.04 (which is ok, they are the same)
[08:20] <sorinello> I set another theme in 20.10, and the theme change works, but the icons are still broken
[08:21] <xtao> well i'm glad somebody else has the same problem. it suggests there is a more general problem than just my own laptop. as more users upgrade hopefully one of them can find the problem here :)

[08:23] <xtao> when that's selected it deletes the icon line from the config file, if i select another one then the config line gets added but they are still broken
